Nottingham Forest F
Nottingham ( , locally ) is a city and unitary authority area in Nottinghamshire, East Midlands, England. It is located north-west of London, south-east of Sheffield and north-east of Birmingham. Nottingham has links to the legend of Robin Hood and to the lace-making, bicycle and tobacco industries. The city is also the county town of Nottinghamshire and the settlement was granted its city charter in 1897, as part of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Steve Hodge
Stephen Brian Hodge (born 25 October 1962) is an English retired footballer who played as a midfielder. He enjoyed a high-profile club and international career in the 1980s and 1990s, the high point being reaching the 1986 World Cup quarter final against Argentina. Prior to the 2013–14 season Hodge was appointed development squad coach at Notts County. On 27 October 2013 Hodge was appointed caretaker manager, reverting to his position as development squad coach on 6 November 2013 with the appointment of Shaun Derry as manager. Alf Spouncer
William Alfred Spouncer (1 July 1877 – 31 August 1962) was an English footballer, who played as an outside left. Career Born in Gainsborough, Spouncer first played for hometown club Gainsborough Trinity during the 1893–94 season. He joined Sheffield United in October 1895, where he would stay until May 1897, when he signed professionally for Nottingham Forest. He won the FA Cup in 1898 and the Division Two title in 1907. After leaving Forest in 1910, and failing to find a new club, he retired the following year. Internationally, he earned one cap for England in 1900, against Wales. Spouncer had a brief foray into management with Barcelona, taking charge of the Catalans during the 1923–24 season. Peter Shilton
Peter Leslie Shilton (born 18 September 1949) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. His 30-year career included spells at 11 clubs and he has the distinction of playing over 1,000 league games, including in excess of 100 for each of five different clubs. During his time at Nottingham Forest, Shilton won many honours, including two European Cups, a UEFA Super Cup, the First Division championship, and the Football League Cup. Shilton represented England at the FIFA World Cup in 1982, 1986 (where Diego Maradona scored two famous goals against him) and 1990, and the UEFA European Championship in 1980 and 1988. John Sands (footballer)
John Sands (4 March 1859 – 29 February 1924) was an English footballer who played as a goalkeeper for Nottingham Forest before the advent of League football, and made one appearance for the England national team. Career Sands was born in Nottingham and played junior football in the town before joining Nottingham Forest in 1878, shortly before his club debut. At that time Forest were not playing in a recognised league so matches were either "friendlies" or FA Cup matches. Sands helped them reach the FA Cup semi-finals in 1879 (lost 2–1 to Old Etonians) and 1880 (lost 1–0 to Oxford University). Shortly before the 1880 semi-final (played on 27 March 1880), Sands was selected for his only appearance for England away to Wales on 15 March. Charlie Richards
Charles Henry Richards (9 August 1875 – ?) was a professional footballer most notable for playing almost 100 matches for Grimsby Town. Born in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England, Richards began his career as an inside right with Derbyshire side Gresley Rovers. He then played for Newstead Byron for a time, before moving on to Notts County in July 1894. However, Richards transferred to Notts County's city rivals, Nottingham Forest, only 18 months later, where he played for a total of three seasons. He made 74 league appearances for Forest, scoring 20 goals. In December 1898, Richards transferred to Grimsby Town, where he made 80 league appearances and scored 42 goals, including three penalties. In his final season with Grimsby, Richards and the rest of the team won promotion to the First Division by finishing top of the Second Division. He was then picked up by Leicester Fosse in June 1901. Stuart Pearce (born 24 April 1962) is an English professional football manager and former player, who was most recently a first-team coach for Premier League club West Ham United. He was nicknamed "Psycho" for his unforgiving style of play. Larry Lloyd
Laurence Valentine Lloyd (born 6 October 1948) is an English retired association football central defender and manager. He won domestic and European honours for both Bill Shankly's Liverpool and Brian Clough's Nottingham Forest in the 1970s. Early years He started playing local football with Henbury Old Boys before being signed to Bristol Rovers. Liverpool Rovers accepted a £50,000 bid for Lloyd in April 1969 with manager Bill Shankly looking for a long-term successor to ageing skipper and defender Ron Yeats. Lloyd broke into the team in 1969, making his debut on 27 September in a league game at The Hawthorns. Liverpool drew with West Bromwich Albion 2–2. Tinsley Lindley
Dr. Tinsley Lindley OBE (27 October 1865 – 31 March 1940) was an English footballer. He was described as "an ideal centre forward". He scored three goals in his debut aged 16 for Nottingham Forest.
