Foreign Minister
A foreign affairs minister or minister of foreign affairs (less commonly minister for foreign affairs) is generally a cabinet minister in charge of a state's foreign policy and relations. The formal title of the top official varies between countries. The foreign minister typically reports to the head of government (such as prime minister or president). Difference in titles In some nations, such as India, the foreign minister is referred to as the minister for external affairs; or others, such as Brazil and the states created from the former Soviet Union, call the position the minister of external relations. John Kirakosyan
John Kirakosyan ( hy, Ջոն Կիրակոսյան; May 6, 1929 – June 20, 1985) was a Soviet Armenian Foreign Minister from 1975 until his death. He was also a historian and political scientist who was a Doctor of Historical Sciences and a professor at Yerevan State University, where he headed the Faculty of Oriental Studies. Biography Kirakosyan was born in Yerevan, the capital of Soviet Armenia, in 1929. From 1955-1962 he was head of the propaganda division of the monthly of the Communist Party of Armenia, "Leninyan Ughiov". From 1962-1966 he was head of the propaganda division of the party's Central Committee, and from 1966-1969 he served as chairman of the state committee of the Armenian SSR on television and radio broadcasting. Civil Contract (Armenia)
Civil Contract ( hy, Քաղաքացիական պայմանագիր, , ՔՊ, KP, often shortened to Քաղպայմանագիր, ''K'aghpaymanagir'') is a centrist political party in Armenia. It was established on 24 July 2013 as a non-governmental organization. Its governing board was formed on 9 December 2013. On 30 May 2015, it was registered as a political party. Civil Contract participated in the 2017 Armenian parliamentary election and the 2017 Yerevan City Council election as part of the Way Out Alliance (''Yelk''). Following the 2018 Armenian Velvet Revolution led by Nikol Pashinyan, a new political alliance rose to prominence known as the My Step Alliance. Armen Valerii Grigoryan ( hy, Արմեն Վալերիի Գրիգորյան; born December 25, 1983) is an Armenian politician and political scientist who is currently serving as Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia. Biography Armen Grigoryan was born on December 25, 1983, in Martuni, Martuni District, Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast. Ara Henrii Ayvazyan ( hy, Արա Հենրիի Այվազյան, born 30 March 1969) is an Armenian diplomat and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. Early life and career Ayvazyan was born on 30 March 1969 in Yerevan. From 1986 to 1993, he studied at the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Faculty of Arabic Studies at Yerevan State University. Zohrab Hrachiki Mnatsakanyan ( hy, Զոհրաբ Հրաչիկի Մնացականյան, born 20 March 1966) is an Armenian diplomat. Mnatsakanyan previously served as Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Armenia), Minister of Foreign Affairs and Armenia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations. Eduard Aghvani Nalbandian ( hy, Էդվարդ Աղվանի Նալբանդյան; born July 16, 1956) is an Armenian diplomat who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia from April 2008 to May 2018. Biography Edward Nalbandian was born in 1956 in Yerevan, Armenian SSR. At the age of 22 he graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Vartan Minasi Oskanian ( hy, Վարդան Մինասի Օսկանյան; born February 7, 1954) is the former Foreign Minister of Armenia (1998–2008) and founder of the Civilitas Foundation. Early life and career Born into a wealthy Armenian jewelers' family in Syria, Oskanian was educated in the Armenian schools of Aleppo. After graduating from The AGBU Armenian Central High School in 1973 he left Aleppo for Yerevan, where he attended the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute and received a BSc degree in Structural Engineering. Pan-Armenian National Movement
The Pan-Armenian National Movement or Armenian All-national Movement ( hy, Հայոց Համազգային Շարժում, translit=Hayots Hamazgain Sharzhum; HHS) was a political party in Armenia. History The party emerged from the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Council of 20 February 1988, to reunite with Soviet Armenia. Its first meetings, which demanded reunification of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia, were held in Yerevan on 21 February 1988. Its ruling committee led by Igor Muradyan was organized in the same month, and Levon Ter-Petrossian was incorporated into the ruling body in May 1988. Alexander Arzumanyan ( hy, Ալեքսանդր Ռոբերտի Արզումանյան; born 24 December 1959) is Armenia's first ambassador to the United States (from 1992–1993) and to the United Nations (from 1992–1996). He served as minister of foreign affairs from 1996 until his resignation, with President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, in 1998. Vahan Papazian (politician)
Vahan Papazian ( hy, Վահան Փափազյան; 1876–1973), also known by his pseudonym Goms (Կոմս) was an Armenian doctor, politician, political activist who was one of the leaders of the Armenian national liberation movement. He was the younger brother of Vrtanes Papazian. He was born in Tabriz to parents from Van. Papazian became a leading Armenian figure in the Van region in 1903 and in 1908 was elected to the Ottoman parliament from the Van Vilayet. During the Armenian genocide, he managed to escape to the Caucasus and died in Beirut. From 1942 to 1945, he was a member of the Armenian National Council, established in Berlin with the support of Alfred Rosenberg. Arman Kirakossian (Armenian: Արման Կիրակոսյան; 10 September 1956 – 6 July 2019) was an Armenian diplomat and historian. From November 2014 until his death he served as Ambassador of Armenia to Austria as well as Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and International Organizations in Vienna (UNIDO, UNODC, IAEA, CTBTO).
