Mayo College
Mayo College (informally Mayo) is a boys-only independent boarding school in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. It was founded in 1875 by Richard Bourke, 6th Earl of Mayo, who was the Viceroy of India from 1869 to 1872. This makes it one of the oldest Public school (United Kingdom), public boarding schools in India. The principal is Lt. Gen. (Retd) Surendra Kulkarni, who has occupied the post since January 2015 as the 17th principal.The school houses 800 pupils aged between 9 and 18. The idea for the college was proposed in 1869 by Colonel Walter. It was founded in 1875 and Oliver St John (civil servant), Colonel Sir Oliver St John became its first principal. The founder's intention was to create an "Eton College, Eton of India". The India International Centre (IIC) is a non-official organisation situated in New Delhi, India. Membership of the IIC includes artists, academicians, senior government officials, judges, jurists, parliamentarians, doctors, ministers, governors, social activists, journalists and persons from other domains. Meja Anna Pernilla Kullersten (formerly Beckman; born Anna Pernilla Torndahl, 12 February 1969) is a Swedish composer, artist and singer. Among her best known songs are "Private Emotion", a duet with Ricky Martin from his multi-Platinum album ''Ricky Martin'' (1999), and "All 'Bout the Money", which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1998. Biography Meja was born Anna Pernilla Torndahl in Nynäshamn, Stockholm County. She had her stage debut at "Ystads City theatre" at the age of 7. Priyamvada Singh (born c. 1983) is a media professional and a heritage restorer based in India. After working in the television industry in Mumbai for a decade, she returned to her ancestral home in Rajasthan, and used the skills of the local community to restore an ancestral fort in her village Meja near Bhilwara. Asiatic Lion
The Asiatic lion is a population of ''Panthera leo leo'' that today survives in the wild only in India. Since the turn of the 20th century, its range has been restricted to Gir National Park and the surrounding areas in the Indian state of Gujarat. Historically, it inhabited much of southwest Asia to northern India. The first scientific description of the Asiatic lion was published in 1826 by the Austrian zoologist Johann N. Meyer, who named it ''Felis leo persicus''. On the IUCN Red List, it is listed under its former scientific name ''Panthera leo persica'' as Endangered because of its small population size and area of occupancy. Until the 19th century, it occurred in Saudi Arabia, eastern Turkey, Iran, Mesopotamia, Pakistan, and from east of the Indus River to Bengal and the Narmada River in Central India. Junagadh () is the headquarters of Junagadh district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Sir Muhammad Mahabat Khanji III Rasul Khanji, (Gujarati language, Gujarati: મુહમ્મદ ખાન ત્રીજાની, Urdu: 2 August 1898 – 17 November 1959), was the last ruling Nawab of Junagadh of the princely state of Junagadh State, Junagadh in India from 1911 to 1948.
