Maldives (, ; dv, ދިވެހިރާއްޖެ, translit=Dhivehi Raajje, ), officially the Republic of Maldives ( dv, ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގެ ޖުމްހޫރިއްޔާ, translit=Dhivehi Raajjeyge Jumhooriyyaa, label=none, ), is an archipelagic state located in South Asia, situated in the Indian Ocean. Ali Azim
Ali Azim is a Maldivian film actor. Career 2010–2016: Early releases Azim expressed his interest in acting at a very young age. Before he pursued a career in acting Azim worked as a dancer and stage performer. He was first recognized by the audience for his facial expressions while dancing. While working in the Animation Dance Group, the team made a short children's film ''Lollypop'' with "no serious intention but for entertainment". The film which features Azim in a "forgettable" role did not much help to accelerate his career. This was followed by Abdul Faththaah's 5 episodes drama series '' Kaiveni'', starred opposite Mariyam Zuhura. Hamdhan Farooq
Hamdhan Farooq (born 3 June 1983) is a Maldivian film actor. Early life Farooq was born on 3 June 1983 in Ga. Dhaandhoo. His parents, Ali Farooq and Mariyam Haleem are actors working in the film industry since 1997. He is the brother of actor Ravee Farooq and Hamdhoon Farooq. He credits his parents and brothers to be his inspiration to pursue a career in the film industry. Career In 2005, Farooq appeared in Mohamed Abdulla's comedy short films series '' Dheke Dhekeves'' in two of its installments, followed by several other productions from Abdulla's "Dheke Dhekeves" studio including '' Farihibe'' short film series and his comedy television series '' Mohamma Gaadiyaa''. Nashidha Mohamed
Nashidha Mohamed is a Maldivian actress. Career Mohamed was first noticed by the owner of the production studio Corona Arts while he was attending an event held in Kulhudhuffushi, where she was performing onstage. Impressed with her appearance and dancing skills, he offered her to star in a video alongside Ahmed Asim. Her next appearance was in Abdul Fattah's horror film '' Eynaa'' (2004), alongside Sheela Najeeb, Mohamed Manik, Ahmed Shah, Khadheeja Ibrahim Didi, and Ibrahim Jihad. The film garnered critical acclaim, especially for its technical team, and was a commercial success. Ahmed Saeed is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career 1997–2010: Debut and early releases On 13 June 1997, Saeed made his screen debut in a video single alongside Hassan Afeef and Mariyam Nisha. Afterwards, he played a role in Yoosuf Rafeeu's ''Dhiriulhumakee Mieebaa?''. He made his official film debut in Fathimath Nahula's debut direction '' Fahuneyvaa'' (1998), starring opposite Hussain Sobah, Jamsheedha Ahmed and Mariyam Nisha which portrays the love-conflict of a man between a prominent stage performer and a deaf-mute poor girl. Saeed played the role of Ahmed, a childhood friend of Ziyan who secretly marries two girls. Sheela Najeeb
Sheela Najeeb (born 7 September 1974) is a Maldivian film actress. She has established a career in Maldivian Film Industry and is the recipient of several awards, one Gaumee Film Awards and two Maldivian Film Awards. She made her screen debut alongside Junaid in a music video "Nudhaashey Magey Loabivaa" and featured in several films afterwards. In 2001, she gained wider recognition for the lead role in the romance ''Hiiy Edhenee''; a remake of ''Dhadkan'', followed by Abdul Fattah's '' Aan... Yoosuf Shafeeu
Yoosuf Shafeeu also known as Eupe (20 October 1975) is a Maldivian film actor, editor, writer, and director. One of the most successful filmmakers and actors in Maldivian Cinema, Shafeeu is the recipient of a number of awards, including eight Gaumee Film Awards, and a Maldives Film Award; ; holding the record of collecting maximum Gaumee Film Award for Best Actor. In 2003, the Government of Maldives honoured him with the National Award of Recognition. ''Jokaru'' is a 2023 Maldivian comedy film written and directed by Yoosuf Shafeeu. Produced by Ismail Shafeeq and Ali Shaniz Mohamed under Eupe Production, in association with Shy Production and Saturn Studio, the film stars Ahmed Nimal, Sheela Najeeb, Ahmed Saeed, Ali Azim and Nashidha Mohamed in pivotal roles. The film was released theatrically on 5 September 2023. Premise Afreen seeks assistance from the gang leader Sarudhar and his trio of accomplices, Joharu, Kadheeru, and Ruhul, to obtain a suitcase full of money. Afreen provides them with all the necessary information about the suitcase. The trio initiates their mission by enticing Haris, who is carrying the same suitcase and visiting Male', into a taxi. Hamdhoon Farooq (born 7 April 1988) is a Maldivian film actor and dancer. Early life and career Farooq was born on 7 April 1988 in Male'. His parents, Ali Farooq and Mariyam Haleem are actors working in the film industry since 1997. He is the brother of actor and director Ravee Farooq and comedy actor and dancer Hamdhan Farooq. In 2008, he appeared along with Ravee Farooq and Niuma Mohamed in Ravee's short film '' Erey'' by playing the role of a thug who get trapped at a construction site. Mohamed Jumayyil is a Maldivian actor. He is the son of actor Ahmed Nimal Early life Mohamed Jumayyil's father Ahmed Nimal is one of the established actor and director of the industry. Jumayyil went to Ahmadiyya Pre-school as his first institution. He completed his primary education at Jamaluddin School before completing his secondary education at Dharumavantha School. After completing his GCE Ordinary Level exams, Nimal, inclined Jumayyil to persuade a career in film industry. Nuzuhath Shuaib (born 14 September 1988) is a Maldivian film actress. Early life Nuzuhath Shuaib was born on 14 September 1988 in N. Manadhoo. She was working at Jelly Pizza when her friend, a film actor Ali Azim introduced her to the team of ''Malikaa''. Impressed with the brief meeting, she was roped in to play the title character in the film.
