Liga Malaysia (English: ''Malaysian League'') was an amateur football league in Malaysia that operated from 1982 until 1988. The league was managed by the Football Association of Malaysia. The Malaysian League was established in 1982 after the introduction of a league trophy for the winner of the league stage qualification round for the Malaysia Cup (Malay: ''Piala Malaysia''), with the format first introduced in 1979 where the top eight teams qualified from the league to compete in the knockout stages of the Malaysia Cup. During its inaugural season in 1982, 16 teams participated in a single-tier league. All 13 state football teams, Kuala Lumpur (known as Federal Territory FA at that time), the Armed Forces, and a representative team from Brunei competed in the league. Mohd Hashim Mustapha
Mohd Hashim Mustapha (31 January 1966 – 29 November 2022) was a Malaysian professional footballer who played as a striker. Career Hashim was born in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. In the period from the 1980s until 2000, he played for several Malaysian clubs such as Kelantan, Kedah, Johor, Kelantan JKR FC and Kelantan TNB FC as a striker. Hashim is Malaysia Premier League golden boot winner in 1994 season with 29 goals in 30 matches. With Malaysia, Hashim made his international debut against Burma during the 1987 Southeast Asian Games. In the same competition, he scored his only international goal in a 2–0 semi final win over Thailand. He also participated in the 1994 Asian Games. After he retired from playing professional football, Hashim ventured into coaching. He was the coach of D'ar Wanderers in 2018 FAM League. Sarawak FA State Football Team ( ms, Pasukan Bola Sepak Negeri Sarawak) was a defunct football team which represented the Malaysian region (formerly state) of Sarawak from 1974 to 2020 in the Malaysian football league. It was one of the 14 Malaysian state teams of the Malaysian football league system, Malaysian football structure before the Malaysian football league demanded all teams competing in the country's top two leagues to be run as or changed to professional clubs by 2021. Alistair Martin Edwards (born 21 June 1968) is a former soccer player and coach. A prominent forward, he made a name for himself with National Soccer League clubs Sydney Olympic and Perth Glory.
