Avoyelles Correctional Center
Raymond Laborde Correctional Center (RLCC), formerly Avoyelles Correctional Center (ACC), is a state prison of Louisiana, operated by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections. It is located in unincorporated Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, near Cottonport and about south of Alexandria. History In 1989 Frank Polozola, the U.S. district judge in the state, approved a plan for the state to send over 600 state prisoners who were incarcerated in parish jails to state prisons. Avoyelles and Angola were the two state prisons planned to receive most of these prisoners. In 2011 there was a plan to sell Avoyelles to a private company. The bill failed while in a committee of the Louisiana House of Representatives. In 2012 House Bill 850, which called for the state to look for proposals in privatizing the prison, was launched. Forcht-Wade Correctional Center
Forcht-Wade Correctional Center was a state prison facility in unincorporated Caddo Parish, Louisiana. The prison, operated by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections, was located in the Eddie D. Jones Nature Park in Keithville. The prison also controlled the Dr. Martin Forcht Jr. Clinical Treatment Unit, a facility located near Spring Ridge. History The Caddo Parish commission donated the site of Forcht-Wade to the State of Louisiana in 1977. The donation included some structures that existed on the site. KPLC
KPLC (channel 7) is a television station in Lake Charles, Louisiana, United States, affiliated with NBC and The CW Plus. It is owned by Gray Television, which provides certain services to dual Fox/ABC affiliate KVHP (channel 29) under a shared services agreement (SSA) with American Spirit Media. Both stations share studios on Division Street in downtown Lake Charles, while KPLC's transmitter is located near Fenton, Louisiana. History KPLC-TV signed on September 29, 1954 with NBC's airing of the 1954 World Series. Owner T. B. Lanford of Shreveport had previously signed on KPLC radio (1470 AM, now KLCL, and 99.5 FM, now KNGT) and was eager to expand into television, giving the new station the same callsign as their radio sisters. Plaquemines Parish Detention Center
Plaquemines Parish (; French: ''Paroisse de Plaquemine'', Louisiana French: ''Paroisse des Plaquemines'', es, Parroquia de Caquis) is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. With a population of 23,515 at the 2020 census, the parish seat is Pointe à la Hache and the largest community is Belle Chasse. The parish was formed in 1807. Plaquemines Parish is part of the New Orleans– Metairie metropolitan statistical area. It was severely damaged in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005, and in hurricane events in 2011 and 2021.
