Kannada
Kannada (; ಕನ್ನಡ, ), originally romanised Canarese, is a Dravidian language spoken predominantly by the people of Karnataka in southwestern India, with minorities in all neighbouring states. It has around 47 million native speakers, and was additionally a second or third language for around 13 million non-native speakers in Karnataka. Kannada was the court language of some of the most powerful dynasties of south and central India, namely the Kadambas, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Yadava Dynasty or Seunas, Western Ganga dynasty, Wodeyars of Mysore, Nayakas of Keladi Hoysalas and the Vijayanagara empire. History Namm Radio is the first Kannada online radio channel. started by Pastime Production Private Limited. NammRadio was on trial for one month before its launch. Nammradio was launched by famous Hindustani musician Nagaraja Rao Havaldar along with Col Kaushik, N.R. Vishukumar Director of Department of Information and Public Relations (Karnataka) alongside Kannada actor Chetan Kumar. Avanidhar Havaldar Founder & CEO of NammRadio has taken it to 196 countries today with 6 million listeners. Karnataka has been a leading state in electronic communications, in India, since the start of first private radio station in Mysore, in 1935. Newspapers The era of Kannada newspapers in Karnataka started in 1843 when Hermann Mögling, a missionary from Basel Mission, published the first Kannada newspaper, '' Mangalooru Samachara'', from Mangalore. The first Kannada magazine, ''Mysuru Vrittanta Bodhini'', was started by Bhashyam Bhashyacharya in Mysore. Shortly after Indian Independence in 1948, K.N. Guruswamy started the company ''The Printers, Mysore Pvt. Ltd.'' publishing two newspapers Deccan Herald (in English) and Prajavani (in Kannada). Fever FM is an FM radio station in India. Radio City (Indian Radio Station)
Radio City is India's first private FM radio station and was started on 3 July 2001 by Rupert Murdoch's Star TV Network. It broadcasts on 91.1 (earlier 91.0 in most cities) megahertz from Mumbai (where it was started in 2003), Bengaluru (started first in 2001), Lucknow and New Delhi (since 2003).
