Nationalist Party (Malta)
The Nationalist Party ( mt, Partit Nazzjonalista, PN) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Malta, along with the Labour Party. It is a Christian-democratic, and conservative political party, and it has been also described as centrist or centre-right on the political spectrum. It is supportive of Malta's membership in the European Union. It is currently in opposition to the Labour Party. Since independence in 1964, the Nationalist Party has won six out of the thirteen general elections, in 1966, 1987, 1992, 1998 and 2003. In 2008 it won with a paper-thin majority of around 1500 votes. Austin Gatt received his education at the Lyceum and the University of Malta. He read Law and graduated as a Doctor of Laws in 1975. He practiced law as a partner with one of the oldest law firms on the island.

Jonathan Attard (born on 7 May 1984) is a Maltese lawyer and politician. A former journalist, he is currently serving as Malta’s Justice and Reform of the Construction Sector Minister, since March 2022. Education Dr Attard earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Social Studies in 2004. Subsequently, he then graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2011, and after that year with a Diploma of Notary Public. Edward Zammit Lewis (born 21 June 1973) is a Maltese politician within the Labour Party. He has been a member of the Maltese House of Representatives since 2013. Owen Bonnici (born 24 May 1980) is a Maltese politician who is currently serving as the Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government. He previously served as Pariamentary Secretary for Justice, Minister for Justice, Culture and Local Government, Minister for Education and Employment, and Minister Equality, Research and Innovation.
