Vera Carmi
Vera Carmi (23 November 1914 – 6 September 1969) was an Italian film actress. She appeared in more than 50 films between 1940 and 1956. She was born in Turin, Italy and died in Rome, Italy. Life and career Carmi was born Virginia Doglioli in Turin. After being spotted by the director Ferdinando Maria Poggioli in a beauty contest, she made her film debut in 1940, in a supporting role in Poggioli's ''Goodbye Youth (1940 film), Goodbye Youth'' and in a short time she became one of the most requested actresses in the Telefoni Bianchi genre. After the war she got critical acclaim for a number of dramatic performances, notably Mario Soldati's ''His Young Wife'' and Luciano Emmer's ''Sunday in August''. She was also very active on stage. Erminio Macario
Erminio Macario (27 May 1902 – 25 March 1980), best known as Macario, was an Italian film actor and comedian. He appeared in 42 films between 1933 and 1975. Life and career Born in Turin, Macario made his debut at a young age in the amateur dramatics company Don Bosco Oratory in Valdocco, then he was part of some small amateur companies in his hometown until 1924. At this time, he was cast in the company of dancing and pantomime of Giovanni Molasso. Soon after, he entered the company of Wanda Osiris, the undisputed queen of the revue of that time in Italy. Between the two wars he became, in a short time, one of the most popular comedians of the revue theater. Erminio Spalla
Erminio Spalla (7 July 1897 – 14 August 1971) was an Italian professional heavyweight Boxer (boxing), boxer, film actor and singer. Spalla studied fine arts in Brera (district of Milan), Brera, when in 1910 he saw film footage of the world boxing championships and decided to become a professional boxer. He was the first Italian to win a European boxing title, which he did in 1923. He lost it in 1926 to Paulino Uzcudun and retired from boxing the next year, though he briefly returned to the ring in 1934 and won all three of his final bouts. He returned to art after retiring from the ring. In October 1937 he debuted as an opera singer in ''Nel Trovatore'' in Turin. In the same year he also worked in sculpture and painting. Vera Bergman (16 February 1920 – 1971) was a German stage and film actress known for her roles in Italian films. Bergman died in 1971. Biography Vera Bergmann was the daughter of Dutch diplomat Carl Bergman. Her mother was of Austrian descent. She attended an acting school under the direction of Max Reinhardt after her studies in The Hague. This enabled her later theater career in various European cities including Prague, Rome and also Berlin. Early life Vincenzo "Enzo" Fiermonte was born on 17 July 1908 in Casamassima, a rural village near Bari, in southern Italy to Donato and Lucrezia Fiermonte. Career From 1925 to 1934, he was a professional boxer, with a lifetime record of 47 wins (11 by knockout), 17 losses (10 by knockout), and 2 draws. Life and career Born in Turin, Borghesio started his career as an assistant director in the second half of the 1930s, notably collaborating with Alessandro Blasetti and Mario Mattoli. Massimo Girotti
Massimo Girotti (18 May 1918 – 5 January 2003) was an Italian film actor whose career spanned seven decades. Born in Mogliano, in the province of Macerata, Girotti developed his athletic physique by swimming and playing polo.
