List Of Indian Super League Marquees
Since its inception, the Indian Super League, one of the top footballing tournaments in India, has adopted the marquee player rule in which all eight teams signed one player to be their marquee player for the season. The rule allows ISL teams to pursue players who, in their prime, were considered superstars in the game. Their presence would help build attendances and fanfare throughout the league while also benefiting the players on the field performance wise. Former Liverpool and Spanish international player, Luis García was the first marquee player in the Indian Super League when he signed for Atlético de Kolkata. Indian Super League
The Indian Super League (ISL) is an Indian professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Indian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), and their commercial partners Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), it is officially known as Hero Indian Super League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp. The league currently comprises 11 clubs. Each season of the tournament generally runs from October to March. During the league stage of the competition, each club plays against all the other clubs in a round-robin style. The 2015 Hero Indian Super League was the second season of the Indian Super League, a professional football league played in India since 2014. The season features eight teams. The regular season kicked off on 3 October and ended on 6 December, while the finals began on 11 December, which will conclude with the final match on 20 December. David Sergio Trezeguet (born 15 October 1977) is a French former professional footballer who played as a striker.
