International Organization For Standardization
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO ; ; ) is an independent, non-governmental, international standard development organization composed of representatives from the national standards organizations of member countries. Membership requirements are given in Article 3 of the ISO Statutes. ISO was founded on 23 February 1947, and () it has published over 25,000 international standards covering almost all aspects of technology and manufacturing. It has over 800 technical committees (TCs) and subcommittees (SCs) to take care of standards development. The organization develops and publishes international standards in technical and nontechnical fields, including everything from manufactured products and technology to food safety, transport, IT, agriculture, and healthcare. More specialized topics like electrical and electronic engineering are instead handled by the International Electrotechnical Commission.Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica. 3 June 2021.Inte ...

ISO 2240
Film speed is the measure of a photographic film's photosensitivity, sensitivity to light, determined by sensitometry and measured on #Film, various numerical scales, the most recent being the #ISO, ISO system introduced in 1974. A closely related system, also known as ISO, is used to describe the relationship between exposure and output image lightness in digital cameras. Prior to ISO, the most common systems were #ASA, ASA in the United States and #DIN, DIN in Europe. The term ''speed'' comes from the early days of photography. Photographic emulsions that were more sensitive to light needed less time to generate an acceptable image and thus a complete exposure could be finished faster, with the subjects having to hold still for a shorter length of time. Emulsions that were less sensitive were deemed "slower" as the time to complete an exposure was much longer and often usable only for Still life, still life photography. Exposure times for photographic emulsions shortened from ...

List Of International Organization For Standardization Standards, 1–4999
A list is a set of discrete items of information collected and set forth in some format for utility, entertainment, or other purposes. A list may be memorialized in any number of ways, including existing only in the mind of the list-maker, but lists are frequently written down on paper, or maintained electronically. Lists are "most frequently a tool", and "one does not ''read'' but only ''uses'' a list: one looks up the relevant information in it, but usually does not need to deal with it as a whole".Lucie Doležalová,The Potential and Limitations of Studying Lists, in Lucie Doležalová, ed., ''The Charm of a List: From the Sumerians to Computerised Data Processing'' (2009). Purpose It has been observed that, with a few exceptions, "the scholarship on lists remains fragmented". David Wallechinsky, a co-author of ''The Book of Lists'', described the attraction of lists as being "because we live in an era of overstimulation, especially in terms of information, and lists help us ...

Liquefied Petroleum Gas
Liquefied petroleum gas, also referred to as liquid petroleum gas (LPG or LP gas), is a fuel gas which contains a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases, specifically propane, Butane, ''n''-butane and isobutane. It can also contain some propylene, butylene, and isobutylene/Isobutylene, isobutene. LPG is used as a fuel gas in HVAC, heating appliances, cooking equipment, and vehicles, and is used as an aerosol propellant and a refrigerant, replacing chlorofluorocarbons in an effort to reduce the damage it causes to the ozone layer. When specifically used as a vehicle fuel, it is often referred to as autogas or just as Autogas#Terminology variations and confusion, gas. Varieties of LPG that are bought and sold include mixes that are mostly propane (), mostly butane (), and, most commonly, mixes including both propane and butane. In the northern hemisphere winter, the mixes contain more propane, while in summer, they contain more butane. In the United States, mainly two grad ...

ISO 2852
ISO 2852 ''Stainless steel clamp pipe couplings for the food industry'' was an international standard that defines a non-permanent sanitary food-grade piping interconnect method, commonly used in the food processing industry and with dairy farm equipment. The interconnect consists of: * a lip flange on the ends of pipes with a grooved indentation on the flange. * a polymer sealing gasket placed between sections of pipe, squeezed between the flanges. This ring has a raised groove on both sides mating with the indentations of the two pipes on either side. * an enclosing clamp with C-shape clamping sections that cover the outer circumference of the flanges, applying pressure to squeeze the two pipe sections together onto the sealing ring. The clamp also provides structural strength and rigidity to the pipe sections. The combined lip flange and gasket do not impede the flow of fluids through the piping. The clamping system may be permanent, using a hose clamp A hose clamp is a ...

ISO 2709
ISO 2709 is an ISO standard for bibliographic descriptions, titled ''Information and documentation—Format for information exchange''. It is maintained by the Technical Committee for Information and Documentation ( TC 9846). History In the late 1960s the MARC format was developed under the direction of Henriette Avram at the Library of Congress to encode the information printed on library cards. It standardized in the early 1970s as ANSI/ NISO Standard Z39.2-1971 and ISO 2709-1973. This was one of the first standards for information technology, and called ''Information Interchange Format.'' The 1981 version of the standard was titled ''Documentation—Format for bibliographic information interchange on magnetic tape''. The latest edition of that standard is ANSI/NISO Z39.2-1994 (R2016) (). The ISO standard supersedes Z39.2. As of December 2008 the current standard is ISO 2709:2008. Basic structure An ISO 2709 record has four sections: * Record label—the first 24 characters o ...

Silver Diethyldithiocarbamate
Silver diethyldithiocarbamate is a chemical compound, with formula AgS2CN(CH2CH3)2. It is the silver salt (chemistry), salt of diethyldithiocarbamic acid; the latter is a well-known chelate, chelator of heavy metals. In most of its applications, silver diethyldithiocarbamate resembles the cheaper sodium diethyldithiocarbamate, but it is uniquely insoluble in water. That property makes it a useful analytical reagent for determining arsenic concentrations. Preparation Silver diethyldithiocarbamate can be prepared by mixing a solution sodium diethyldithiocarbamate with a solution of silver nitrate. A precipitate forms immediately and can be filtered to isolate from the rest of the mixture. The solid should then be rinsed with hot water in order to remove the residual acid salt that will be present. Application Silver diethyldithiocarbamate can be applied to introduce the diethyldithiocarbamato ligand to a Coordination complex, coordination compound. Silver diethyldithiocarbamate ...
