This is a list of ice hockey players of the USSR or Russia who were awarded either the title of Merited Master of Sports of the USSR (until 1992) or this title's successor Honoured Master of Sports of Russia (since 1993) respectively. The first ice hockey player was awarded this title in 1948. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. In ice hockey, two opposing teams use ice hockey sticks to control, advance and shoot a closed, vulcanized, rubber disc called a " puck" into the other team's goal. Each goal is worth one point. Sergei Andreyevich Bobrovsky (russian: Серге́й Андреевич "Боб" Бобровский; born 20 September 1988) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played in the NHL for the Philadelphia Flyers and Columbus Blue Jackets, with whom he became recognized as one of the NHL's top goaltenders. Vsevolod Mikhailovich Bobrov ( rus, Все́волод Миха́йлович Бобро́в, p=ˈfsʲevələd bɐˈbrof; 1 December 1922 – 1 July 1979) was a Soviet Union, Soviet athlete, who excelled in football (soccer), football, bandy and ice hockey. Viktor Nikolayevich Blinov (September 1, 1945 in Omsk, Soviet Union – July 9, 1968 in Moscow, Soviet Union) was an ice hockey player who played in the Soviet Hockey League. He played for HC Spartak Moscow. He was inducted into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame in 1968. He played in his first international on February 26, 1965 against Canada. Zinetula Khaidarovich "Bill" Bilyaletdinov (russian: Зинэтула Хайдарович Билялетдинов, tt-Cyrl, Зиннәтулла Хәйдәр улы Билалетдинев; born 13 March 1955) is a former Russian ice hockey player of Tatar descent, who played for the USSR. He is currently playing with Avangard Omsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Sergei Viktorovich Bautin (11 March 1967 – 31 December 2022) was a Soviet-born ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League for the Winnipeg Jets, Detroit Red Wings and the San Jose Sharks. Playing career Bautin was drafted in the first round, 17th overall, of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets. Bautin ended up playing 130 games for the Jets, scoring 5 goals and 25 assists for 30 points, collecting 176 penalty minutes. He wore the number 3, and was usually paired with fellow Russian Igor Ulanov. On March 8, 1994, Bautin, along with Bob Essensa, was traded to the Detroit Red Wings for Tim Cheveldae and Dallas Drake. Konstantin Alexandrovich Barulin (russian: Константи́н Алекса́ндрович Бару́лин, born 4 September 1984) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender playing for Borås HC of the HockeyEttan in Sweden. He was born in Karaganda, Kazakh SSR, Soviet Union (now Kazakhstan), but plays internationally for Russia.
