Hockey East
The Hockey East Association, also known as Hockey East, is a college ice hockey conference which operates entirely in New England. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. Hockey East came into existence in 1984 for men's hockey when most of its current members split from what is today known as ECAC Hockey, after disagreements with the Ivy League members. The women's league, the WHEA, began play in 2002. On October 5, 2011, the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish (an ACC member outside football) announced they would be joining Hockey East as the conference's first non-New England school in 2013 after the CCHA folded. On March 22, 2016, Notre Dame subsequently announced their men's hockey team would leave Hockey East for the Big Ten Conference at the start of the 2017-2018 season. UMass Lowell River Hawks Men's Ice Hockey
The UMass Lowell River Hawks men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents the University of Massachusetts Lowell. It competes at the NCAA Division I level in the Hockey East Association. The team competed at the Division II level until 1983. That year the University of Lowell was raised to D1 in hockey only and joined the newly formed Hockey East Association. Thirty years later with a name change to both the school and the team, the University of Massachusetts Lowell claimed their first Hockey East regular season title and HEA Tournament championship in 2013. The River Hawks made their first Frozen Four in 2013 as well. UMass Lowell would repeat as Hockey East champions in 2014 and then again in 2017. Maine Black Bears Men's Ice Hockey
The Maine Black Bears men's ice hockey is a (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Maine. The Black Bears are a member of Hockey East. They play at the Harold Alfond Sports Arena commonly known as Alfond Arena in Orono, Maine. The Black Bears have appeared in 11 Frozen Fours, have a 28–18 record in NCAA Tournament games, and have won two national championships—in 1993 and 1999. Todd Jackson
Todd Jackson (born April 10, 1981) is an American former professional ice hockey player. He was last playing in Pergine in the Italian 2nd Division. Jackson was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the 8th round (251st overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to turning professional, Jackson attended the University of Maine where he played four seasons with the Maine Black Bears men's ice hockey team, scoring 45 goals and 54 assists in 161 games. Mark Mullen (ice Hockey)
Mark Edward Mullen (born 1961) is a television journalist and the anchorman for NBC affiliate KNSD-TV in San Diego. He joined the station in June, 2010 from ABC News, where he served as a Los Angeles-based correspondent. Prior to ABC, he was Chief Asia Correspondent for NBC News, regularly reporting news on notable Chinese and East Asian current events and contributing in-depth stories about China's changing culture, economy and political system. Mullen also has visited war zones to deliver stories from Iraq. He's covered stories from Europe and from across the U.S., including the aftermath of 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina. Michael J. Pandolfo (born September 15, 1979 in Winchester, Massachusetts and raised in Burlington, Massachusetts) is an American retired professional ice hockey left wing. He was drafted in the third round, 77th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. The Sabres traded his rights to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a deal during the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He played three games in the National Hockey League during the 2003–04 season with the Blue Jackets, going scoreless.
