''Good Times'' is an American television sitcom that aired for six seasons on CBS, from February 8, 1974, to August 1, 1979. Created by Eric Monte and Mike Evans and developed by executive producer Norman Lear, it was television's first African American two-parent family sitcom. ''Diff'rent Strokes'' is an American television sitcom, which aired on NBC from November 3, 1978, to May 4, 1985, and on ABC from September 27, 1985, to March 7, 1986. He was the co-creator of the American sitcom television series ''Hello, Larry'', which he created with his writing partner Dick Bensfield. Early life Grant was born in San Diego, California. Richard Edward Bensfield (June 18, 1926 – June 24, 2016) was an American producer and screenwriter. He is the creator of the American sitcom television series ''Hello, Larry'', which he created with his writing partner Perry Grant. Career Bensfield and Grant met in 1952 when both were writing for ''The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet''. They continued to write for the show until its last season.
