Association Football
Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposition by moving the ball beyond the goal line into a rectangular framed goal defended by the opposing side. Traditionally, the game has been played over two 45 minute halves, for a total match time of 90 minutes. With an estimated 250 million players active in over 200 countries, it is considered the world's most popular sport. Julio Dos Santos
Julio Daniel dos Santos Rodríguez (born 7 May 1983) is a Paraguayan retired footballer who last played for Presidente Hayes. He played usually in the hole-position, and sometimes as a second striker. Club career Born in Asunción, Dos Santos started his professional career with Cerro Porteño, before eventually moving to FC Bayern Munich of Germany, in January 2006. He was elected Paraguayan Footballer of the Year in 2005 by national newspaper ''Diario ABC Color''. Upon his arrival in Munich, he was touted as a long-term successor to Michael Ballack, but faced stiff competition from Iran's Ali Karimi. Patrick Owomoyela
Patrick Olaiya Olukayode Owomoyela (; born 5 November 1979) is a German former professional footballer of Nigerian descent who played mainly as a right-back. He previously played for Lüneburger SK, VfL Osnabrück, SC Paderborn 07, Arminia Bielefeld, SV Werder Bremen, Borussia Dortmund and Hamburger SV II. He was capped by Germany at international level and was a member of the squad at the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup. Club career Owomoyela began his career in lower league German football. In 2003, he made the step up to Arminia Bielefeld, then in the 2. Bundesliga. Pierre Womé
Pierre Nlend Womé (born 26 March 1979) is a Cameroonian former professional footballer who played as a defender. A journeyman, Womé was a versatile and skillful left wingback who played for 14 clubs in six countries. At international level, he made 68 FIFA-official appearances scoring 1 goal for the Cameroon national team. Club career After spending his youth career at Fogape Yaoundé and the relatively eminent regional side Canon Yaoundé, Womé moved to Italy from Cameroon in the summer of 1996 to start his professional career. Rot-Weiss Essen
Rot-Weiss Essen is a German association football club based in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The club currently plays in the 3. Liga, at the Stadion an der Hafenstraße. The team won the DFB-Pokal in 1953, and the German championship in 1955. The latter success qualified them to the first season of the European Cup. History Early years The club was formed as ''SV Vogelheim'' on 1 February 1907 out of the merger of two smaller clubs: ''SC Preussen'' and ''Deutsche Eiche''. Niklas Andersen
Niklas Andersen (born 4 August 1988) is a German former professional footballer who played as a left-back. He is the son of Jørn Andersen. Career Andersen played in the youth system of Hamburger SV, Eintracht Frankfurt and Schalke 04. He moved often, due to following his father and coach, Jørn Andersen. In 2005, he gained a foothold in Rot-Weiss Essen's A youth team and was called up in the last season for the Regionalliga team. For the 2008–09 season Andersen moved to Bundesliga club Werder Bremen where he signed a contract running until 30 June 2012. Andersen made his debut for the Werder Bremen senior team on 13 May 2009. He was substituted on in the 77th minute for Frank Baumann in a 0–5 away win against Eintracht Frankfurt. Said Husejinović (born 13 May 1988) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Bosnian Premier League club Sloboda Tuzla.
