This is a list of seasons completed by the Frölunda ice hockey franchise of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). The list documents the season-by-season records of the Frölunda franchise from 1944 to present, including post-season records. The Frölunda franchise was founded in 1938 as an ice hockey section in Västra Frölunda IF and played their first game in 1944. Lars-Eric Lundvall
Lars-Eric Lundvall (3 April 1934 – 8 April 2020) was a Swedish professional ice hockey player and coach. Between 1956 and 1965 he played 195 international matches and scored 79 goals. During this period he won 5 world and 10 European championship medals, including world and European titles in 1957 and 1962; he also took part in the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics and finished in fourth, fifth and second place, respectively. Domestically Lundvall won two Swedish titles: with Södertälje SK in 1956 and with Västra Frölunda IF in 1965. He was selected to the Swedish all-star team in 1959 and 1960. After retiring from competitions in 1968, Lundvall stayed as a coach with his last club Västra Frölunda IF. Allsvenskan (ice Hockey)
HockeyAllsvenskan (previously Allsvenskan and SuperAllsvenskan) is a professional ice hockey league, and the second-highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system (after the SHL). Since the 2009–10 season, the league consists of fourteen teams. Previous leagues called Allsvenskan During seasons 1948–49 through 1974–75 ''Allsvenskan'' was the semi-official name of the first-level league, the official name being ''Division 1 norra'' (north) and ''södra'' (south), comprising six teams each until 1955–56 and eight teams each from 1956–57 to 1973–74. Linköping Hockey Club, often known by its initials LHC, or colloquially among its fans as Cluben, is a Swedish ice hockey club from Linköping, founded in 1976. The home arena of the team is Saab Arena (formerly Cloetta Center) which accommodates 8,500 spectators. HV71
HV71 (), often referred to as just HV, is a Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Jönköping, playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the first tier of Swedish ice hockey. The team played in the 2008–09 Champions Hockey League season, and also participates in the new Champions Hockey League tournament since the 2014–15 season. Between 2008 and 2013, HV also participated in the European Trophy tournament. Timrå IK is a professional Swedish ice hockey team based in Timrå, north of Sundsvall. It competes in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), which is the top-tier league in Sweden, since being promoted by winning 2021 SHL qualifiers. Modo Hockey (or MoDo with uppercase letters) is a professional ice hockey club in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. The team plays in Sweden's second-tier league HockeyAllsvenskan. The club was founded in 1987 and has won one SHL championships; in 2007. The team's home arena since 2006 is the Hägglunds Arena (previously known as ''Fjällräven Center'' and ''Swedbank Arena''). Luleå HF
Luleå Hockeyförening is an ice hockey club from Luleå, Sweden. The club has been playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the top tier of ice hockey in Sweden, since the 1984–85 season. They are the northernmost team in the league and have won the Swedish championships once, in 1996. Rögle BK (Rögle Bandyklubb) is a Swedish professional ice hockey club from Ängelholm that has been playing in the SHL since the 2015–16 season. Huddinge IK
Huddinge IK (or ''Huddinge Hockey''), is a Swedish ice hockey team from Huddinge, a southern suburb in Stockholm County. The team is currently playing in the third highest league in Sweden, Hockeyettan. In the middle of the 1990s, a women's floorball section was founded, whose A-team advanced to Elitserien, the highest league, in 2008. History Huddinge IK was founded as the ice hockey section of Huddinge IF in 1946, and wasn't spun off into a separate club until January 8, 1950. The club has played 21 seasons in Sweden's second-highest ice hockey league, and has participated in the qualifiers for promotion to the highest league without success more than any other Swedish club. Leksands IF
Leksands Idrottsförening is a Swedish ice hockey team from the town of Leksand in the region of Dalarna. The team plays in the top-tier league, SHL, after succeeding through the 2019 SHL qualifiers and thus earning promotion to the SHL. The club's home arena is Tegera Arena, which seats 7,650 spectators. History The club was formed on 13 August 1919, originally playing bandy and ski competitions. In 1920 they also took up football. The first hockey game was played in 1938, when they beat Mora IK 11–0, and this sport is now the only sport the club competes in. Despite the fact that the town of Leksand only has 6,000 inhabitants, Leksands IF is one of the most popular teams in Sweden, and the team averages over 4,000 spectators per game in their home arena despite playing in the second tier. Kvalserien
Kvalserien, also known as ''Kvalserien till SHL'', was the Swedish round-robin ice hockey tournament to qualify for play in the next season of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL, previously named Elitserien), Sweden's top-level ice hockey league for men. It was replaced by a playoff round in the 2014–15 season. Teams Kvalserien was formed after the regular seasons of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL, previously named Elitserien) and the second-tier league HockeyAllsvenskan had been played. The two worst ranked teams in the SHL and the best four teams in HockeyAllsvenskan formed the league together with the winner of a six-round round-robin tournament between the teams ranked 4–7 from HockeyAllsvenskan.
