Superbus is a five-piece French pop rock band formed in 1999 with Jenn Ayache on lead vocals. The band's name is from the Latin word '' superbus'', meaning ''proud'', which Ayache stumbled upon while browsing through a Latin dictionary. The band has released five studio albums to date and a compilation album. Beginnings After a trip to the United States to perfect her English in 1999, Jennifer Ayache looked for musicians to form a group. Jean-Louis Aubert (, born 12 April 1955) is a French singer-songwriter, guitarist, composer and producer. He went on a solo career after the split of the rock band Téléphone that he co-founded. Early life Born in Nantua, Ain, France in 1955, Aubert and his two sisters moved with his parents to Senlis, Oise, where his father was a sub-prefect. He was raised by their service people. In 1965, his family moved to Paris. Although he was in the scouts and the choir, Aubert was a difficult child. Assia (born November 1, 1973, in Algiers) is an Algerian-born French singer with Kabyle origins. Her albums mixed pop, R&B and oriental music. She had great success with her hit singles "Elle est à toi" and "Là-bas". Biography At a young age, she spent twelve years at the classical conservatory in Créteil (near Paris), then a few years later obtained a law degree. Carol Arnauld (28 March 1961 – 9 September 2022) was a French singer and songwriter. She sang in the late 1980s and can be deemed as a one-hit wonder in France with her hit single "C'est pas facile...", released in September 1986. The song reached number 10 on the SNEP chart, stayed in the top 50 for 16 weeks and was certified Silver disc for 250,000 copies sold.
