This is a list of the Dutch Top 40 number-one singles of 2010. The Dutch Top 40 is a chart that ranks the best-performing singles of the Netherlands. It is published by radio station Radio 538. In 2010, 12 acts gained their first Dutch number-one single either as lead or featured act: Owl City, Train, B.o.B, Bruno Mars, Stromae, Yolanda Be Cool, DCUP, Travie McCoy, Swedish House Mafia, Pharrell, Cee Lo Green and Mohombi. That means all of the acts who became number one this year got their first Dutch number-one single. Bruno Mars got his first number-one single as a featured artist in "Nothin' On You" for two weeks, his second again as a featured artist in "Billionaire" for one week, and his third as his first single as a lead artist in " Just the Way You Are" for 11 straight weeks. The last time that an act was number-one for 11 weeks was in 2007, when André Hazes and Gerard Joling became number-one for 11 weeks with "Blijf Bij Mij". Dutch Top 40
The Dutch Top 40 ( nl, Nederlandse Top 40) is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Joost den Draaijer initiated the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The show currently airs on Fridays from 2 to 6 PM on Qmusic. History On January 2, 1965, the first Top 40 was compiled, with its first #1 hit "''I Feel Fine''" by The Beatles. In September 1974, the Stichting Nederlandse Top 40 bought the Top 40 and named it ''De Nederlandse Top 40''. Gerard Joling
Gerard Jan Joling (born 29 April 1960) is a Dutch singer and television presenter. Known for his high tenor voice, he rose to fame in the late 1980s and released a string of singles including "Ticket to the Tropics" and "Love Is in Your Eyes". He also achieved success in Asia and received more than 20 gold and platinum records. In 1988, he was the Dutch participant in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988, with the song "Shangri-La". His biggest hit was " No More Boleros" that reached the top 10 in several countries in mainland Europe. "We No Speak Americano" is a song by Australian band Yolanda Be Cool and producer DCUP. It was released on the independent Australian label Sweat It Out on 27 February 2010. The song samples the 1956 Italian song " Tu Vuò Fà L'Americano" in the Neapolitan language by Renato Carosone, written by Carosone and Nicola Salerno. "We No Speak Americano" became a hit in Europe, Australia, and Latin America (where the song is also known as ''Pa-Panamericano'') as well as a top 40 hit in the U.S. and Canada. Lucie Silvas (born Lucie Joanne Silverman, 4 September 1977) is a British singer-songwriter. Early life Born in Kingston upon Thames, England, her father is from New Zealand and is of Jewish descent; and her mother is Scottish and is Christian. Silvas has two sisters, Mia (who has performed backing vocals for her), and Nikki. Her parents were also big music lovers and Silvas has stated this inspired her career, besides the fact that her mother was an opera singer and wanted to pursue a career in music herself.
