Disneyland is a theme park, conceived by Walt Disney, within the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. As of March 2017, Disneyland has 53 attractions with 49 rides (The term "attractions" is used by The Walt Disney Company, Disney as a catch-all term for rides, shows, and exhibits.) Fantasyland Theatre
Fantasyland Theatre, formerly Videopolis, is the name of a outdoor amphitheater at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Located in Fantasyland, it functions as a venue for various shows. In 1995, the location was renamed to Fantasyland Theater. In 2013, it was renamed to the English-classic spelling, Fantasyland Theatre, with the opening of the venue's most recent show ''Mickey and the Magical Map''. Predecessor The original Fantasyland Theater (different spelling) opened in 1956. This theater showed Disney cartoons and Mouseketeers of ''The Mickey Mouse Club'' featured short films. In 1981, it shut down in preparation for construction of the revamped Fantasyland and was then replaced with Pinocchio's Daring Journey. Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway is a trackless dark ride in Disney's Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, and forthcoming in Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The attraction—the first Mickey Mouse-themed ride-through attraction at a Disney theme park—is based on the stylized world from the Paul Rudish television series. The version of Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway at Disney's Hollywood Studios was first announced at the D23 Expo in July 2017 as part of the unveiling of 23 improvements to Disney Parks, including four new rides across the theme parks. Mickey's Toontown is a themed land at Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland, two theme parks operated by Walt Disney Parks & Resorts and The Oriental Land Company respectively. At Tokyo Disneyland, this land is named Toontown. A similar land existed at the Magic Kingdom until 2011 and was named Mickey's Toontown Fair. Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris has a related land called Toon Studio. The land in Disneyland is currently under refurbishment and will reopen in 2023, as part of the "Disney 100 Years of Wonder" celebration. The Sailing Ship ''Columbia'', located at the Disneyland park in Anaheim, California, is a full-scale replica of ''Columbia Rediviva'', the first American ship to circumnavigate the globe. The ''Columbia'' has operated in the park for more than fifty years. Passengers of the ship take a 12-minute trip around the Rivers of America. At night, the ''Columbia'' plays the role of a pirate ship in riverfront performances of the park's nighttime show, ''Fantasmic!'' Frontierland Shootin' Arcade is an attraction in Walt Disney World which simulates a shootout in Tombstone, Arizona, over Boot Hill in 1850. The gallery includes a jail, hotel, bank, and cemetery with targets which are animated when shot. There are a total of 97 targets in the shooting gallery. History Originally, the guns shot lead pellets, but were replaced with infra-red light rifles during the summer of 1982, due to the maintenance costs of repainting the targets almost every night. This would use 2,000 gallons of paint a year. Before September of 2021, it was an upcharge attraction and was only free during the park's Halloween festivities. Guests would previously have to pay $1 USD for 35 shots. However, it is now free for all parks guests to enjoy without separately purchasing admission to. The Disney riverboats are paddle steamer watercraft attraction ride vehicles operating on a track on a series of attractions located at Disney theme parks around the world. The first was the ''Mark Twain'' Riverboat, located at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California, on which passengers embark on a scenic, 12-minute journey around the Rivers of America.
