List Of Central Forest Reserves Of Uganda
A Central Forest Reserve is a body of forest or woodland managed by the National Forestry Authority (NFA) under the National Forestry and Tree Planting Act 8/2003. The NFA is mandated to manage all 506 Central Forest Reserves in Uganda. These reserves are part of the protected areas of Uganda. The total area of land covered is 12,657.47 km² or 6.3% of the total land area of Uganda. They compose of natural forest like moist semi-deciduous forests and forest plantations mainly of pine and eucalyptus species. Legal activities done under the NFA are harvesting timber, re-planting and tourism. National Forestry Authority
The National Forest Authority is the body of the Ugandan central government that is responsible for managing the country's Central Forest Reserves. It was created as a semi-autonomous corporation through the National Forestry and Tree Planting Act of 2003 to replace the prior Forestry Department. Bundibugyo District
Bundibugyo District is a district in the Western Region of Uganda, bordering the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The town of Bundibugyo is where both the district headquarters and the Bwamba Kingdom seat ( Obudhingiya Bwa Bwamba) are located. Before July 2010, the districts of Ntoroko and Bundibugyo were one. Ihimbo Central Forest Reserve
Ihimbo Central Forest Reserve, located in western Uganda, is one of the protected forest reserves in Uganda which is found in Rukungiri district. The Forest Reserve is situated near the villages of Bwambara and Kikongi. The forest reserve is endowed with natural herbs that are medicinal and cure ailments in the human body and managed by National Forestry Authority. The forest reserve was gazetted in 1965. Ibamba Central Forest Reserve
Ibamba Central Forest Reserve is a protected Forest Reserve under the mandate oNational Forestry Authorityand is located in Hoima District, western Uganda. The Forest Reserve is situated nearby to the villages Kihuule and Kicwamba. Kibaale District, is a district in the Western Region of Uganda. The district headquarters are in the town of Kibaale. Guramwa Central Forest Reserve
Guramwa Central Forest Reserve is a protected area located in Western Uganda's Kibaale district. It is managed by the National Forestry Authority and was first gazetted in 1932 under the National Forestry and Tree Planting Act, 2003 with an area of , and was later re-gazetted in 1968 with an area of 1,550 ha. Setting and structure Guramwa Central Forest Reserve is part of the Albertine Rift montane forests, which is located in the Albertine Rift region. The Albertine Rift is a branch of the East African Rift that stretches from Lake Albert's northern end to Lake Tanganyika's southern end. It is one of richest biodiversity hotspot areas in Uganda. Kabarole District
Kabarole District is a district in Western Uganda. Kabarole District is part of the Kingdom of Toro. Its main town was Fort Portal before 1st July 2020 when it was elevated to a city, separating it from Kabarole district Government. The new Kabarole district seat is proporsed in Busoro Town Council. Kabarole remains with only one county (Burahya). Bunyangabu county was curved out to form Bunyangabu district in 2017.
