The following is a list of Bishop (Catholic Church), bishops of the Roman Catholic Church in Texas. The Texas Catholic Church comprises 15 Latin Church dioceses and one personal ordinariate led by a bishop. The 15 Latin dioceses are divided into two Ecclesiastical province#Catholic Church, ecclesiastical provinces. Each province has a metropolitan archdiocese led by an Bishop (Catholic Church)#Metropolitan archbishop, archbishop, and six, Galveston-Houston, or seven, San Antonio, suffragan dioceses. Curtis Guillory
Curtis John Guillory, S.V.D. (born September 1, 1943) is an American prelate of the Catholic Church and member of the Society of the Divine Word. Guillory served as Bishop of Beaumont from 2000 to 2020. He was the first non- canonist to hold this position. Guillory previously served as an auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of Galveston–Houston from 1988 to 2000, the first (and, as of 2022, the only) Black Catholic bishop in Texas history. David Leon Toups (born 26 March 1971) is an American prelate of the Catholic Church who has served as Roman Catholic Diocese of Beaumont, Bishop of Beaumont since 2020. He was previously rector of St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary. Biography Early life David Toups was born on March 26, 1971, in Seattle, Washington. He first attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, before entering Saint John Vianney Seminary (Miami), St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami, Florida.
