Blue Öyster Cult is an American hard rock band from Long Island, New York. Formed in 1967, the group originally consisted of guitarist and vocalist Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser, bassist Andrew Winters, drummer Albert Bouchard, keyboardist Allen Lanier, and rhythm guitarist John Wiesenthal. The band has been through many lineup changes, and currently includes Roeser, vocalist and guitarist Eric Bloom (since 1969), bassist and backing vocalist Danny Miranda (from 1995 to 2004, in 2007, and since 2017), rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Richie Castellano, and drummer Jules Radino (both since 2004). ''The Symbol Remains'' is the fifteenth studio album by American rock band Blue Öyster Cult, released on October 9, 2020. The title comes from a lyric in the song "Shadow of California" on Blue Öyster Cult's 1983 LP '' The Revölution by Night''. This is the band's first studio release since 2001's '' Curse of the Hidden Mirror'', making it the longest gap between the band's studio albums. It also marks the recording debut by long-time members Jules Radino and Richie Castellano, as well as the first studio album since 1985's ''Club Ninja'' to not feature Allen Lanier, who died in 2013. ''A Long Day's Night'' is a live album by American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult, recorded in Chicago, Illinois, on 21 June 2002. It is so named because that day was 2002's summer solstice, the longest day of the year. The concert was released as a DVD and a CD; the CD does not include seven of the songs included on the DVD-release ("E.T.I.," "Harvester of Eyes," "Flaming Telepaths," "Then Came the Last Days of May," "ME 262" and the encore songs "Dominance and Submission" and "The Red and the Black"), while the CD-release featured "Astronomy", not available on the DVD. Curse Of The Hidden Mirror
''Curse of the Hidden Mirror'' is the fourteenth studio album by American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult, released in June 5, 2001. The only single from the record was the poorly received "Pocket". Lackluster sales and poor relations led to the band being dropped by their label, Sanctuary Records; as a result, BÖC did not release another studio album for nearly 20 years, until the release of ''The Symbol Remains'' in 2020. The title of the album is taken from a song contained in the unreleased album by the Stalk-Forrest Group, the band that would later become Blue Öyster Cult, recorded in 1970. John Shirley, an author of cyberpunk science fiction, wrote the lyrics for many songs of the album. The song "Out of the Darkness" was originally featured in the 1992 film ''Bad Channels'', which Blue Öyster Cult recorded the soundtrack for, although the song was not included in the soundtrack album for the movie. ''Heaven Forbid'' is the thirteenth studio album by American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult, released on March 24, 1998. It was the band's first studio album with new material in a decade (not counting the 1992 soundtrack to ''Bad Channels''). American science fiction and horror writer John Shirley wrote lyrics to most of the songs on the album. While he is primarily known as an author for his cyberpunk stories, many of the lyrics on this album revolve around early science fiction and mystery motifs. The album's working title was 'Ezekiel's Wheel,' after the Biblical story that some take to reference an early visitation by UFOs. Kasim Sulton
Kasim Sulton (born December 8, 1955) is an American bass guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist. Best known for his work with Utopia, Sulton sang lead on 1980's "Set Me Free," Utopia's only top 40 hit in the United States. As a solo artist, Sulton hit the Canadian top 40 in 1982 with "Don't Break My Heart". Sulton has been a frequent collaborator, bassist and singer on many of Todd Rundgren's projects and solo tours. Biography Sulton attended and graduated in 1973 from Susan E. Wagner High School in Staten Island, New York. He married his high school sweetheart, Laurie Rampulla, and had three children with her. She died of cancer in 2011. Sulton started his musical career playing piano and vocals for Cherry Vanilla and guitar for Brooklyn-based band Sleepy Hollow before gaining a place in Utopia in 1976. Rodolfo Maximiliano Sarzo Lavieille Grande Ruiz Payret y Chaumont (born November 18, 1950) is a Cuban American hard rock/ heavy metal bassist. He remains best known for his work with Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, and Whitesnake, and has also played with several well known heavy metal and hard rock acts including Manic Eden, Dio, Blue Öyster Cult, Geoff Tate's Queensrÿche, Devil City Angels, and The Guess Who.
