Cinema Of Bangladesh
The Bangladeshi Cinema, better known as Dhallywood ( bn, ঢালিউড), is the Bengali-language film industry based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has often been a significant film industry since the early 1970s. The dominant style of Bangladeshi cinema is melodramatic cinema, which developed from 1947 to 1990 and characterizes most films to this day. Cinema was introduced in Bangladesh in 1898 by the Bradford Bioscope Company, credited to have arranged the first film release in Bangladesh. Between 1913 and 1914, the first production company, Picture House, was opened. A 1928 short silent film titled ''Sukumari'' () was the first Bengali-produced film in the region. The first full-length film, ''The Last Kiss (1931 film), The Last Kiss'', was released in 1931. Parveen Sultana Diti
Parveen Sultana ( bn, পারভীন সুলতানা দিতি known by her stage name Diti; 31 March 1965 – 20 March 2016) was a Bangladeshi film and television actress. She won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1987 for her performance in ''Swami Stree''. She acted in more than 200 films in her career. Early life and education Diti was born in Sonargaon, Narayanganj district to her parents Abul Hossain and Nurjahan Begum. She completed higher secondary examination from Eden Mohila College and bachelor's from Lalmatia Women College. Riaz Uddin Ahamed Siddique (; born 1972), commonly known as Riaz, is a Bangladeshi film actor, producer, and television presenter who has appeared in more than 100 Bengali films in genres ranging from romance to action to comedies. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including three National Film Awards and seven Meril Prothom Alo Awards. He portrayed the famous literary character, Shuvro, created by Humayun Ahmed, in Daruchini Dip. Riaz first appeared onscreen as a side role in filmmaker Dewan Nazrul's social action drama ''Banglar Nayok'' (1995). Humayun Ahmed
Humayun Ahmed (; 13 November 1948 – 19 July 2012) was a Bangladeshi novelist, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and professor. His breakthrough was his debut novel ''Nondito Noroke'' published in 1972. He wrote over 200 fiction and non-fiction books, many of which were bestsellers in Bangladesh. His books were the top sellers at the Ekushey Book Fair during the 1990s and 2000s. He won the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1981 and the Ekushey Padak in 1994 for his contribution to Bengali literature. In the early 1990s, Ahmed emerged as a filmmaker. He went on to make a total of eight films - each based on his own novels. Masud Parvez (born 1947; known by his stage name Sohel Rana) is a Bangladeshi film actor, director and producer. At present, he is a presidium member of the Jatiya Party. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in the film Ojante (1996), the Best Supporting Actor award for Sahoshi Manush Chai (2003) and the Bangladesh National Film Award for Lifetime Achievement 2019. Humayun Kamrul Islam (known as Humayun Faridi; 29 May 1952 – 13 February 2012) was a Bangladeshi actor and drama organiser. He worked in television dramas, movies and theatre plays. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his lead role in the film ''Matritto'' (2004). He was awarded Ekushey Padak posthumously in 2018 by the Government of Bangladesh. A comedy film is a category of film which emphasizes humor. These films are designed to make the audience laugh through amusement.
