''Clowning Around'' is a 1992 Australian family film that was shot on location in Perth, Western Australia and Paris, France. It was based on the novel ''Clowning Sim'' by David Martin.Albert Moran, ''Moran's Guide to Australian TV Series'', AFTRS 1993 p 119 The film was produced by independent film company Barron Entertainment Films in Western Australia and educational film company WonderWorks in the United States, was directed by George Whaley. Bill Kroyer
William Kroyer is an American director of animation and computer graphics commercials, short films, movie titles, and theatrical films. He and Jerry Rees were the main animators for the CGI sequences in ''Tron''. He is currently the head of the Digital Arts department at Lawrence and Kristina Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University. Career Kroyer began his animation career in 1975 by working in a small commercial studio. In 1977, he finally ended up at Disney Studios as animator on ''The Fox and the Hound'' but left Disney later because he did not want to work on '' The Black Cauldron''. It was then he met future ''Tron'' director Steven Lisberger, who was working on ''Animalympics''. After ''Animalympics'' was completed, Lisberger developed ''Tron'' and sold it to Disney. Frank Michael Howson (born 1952) has had a career in entertainment. He directed ''Flynn'' (1996) on the early life of Errol Flynn and ''Hunting'' (1991). Howson, with Peter Boyle, helped establish Boulevard Films which produced thirteen films from '' Boulevard of Broken Dreams'' (1988) to ''Flynn''; besides producing for Boulevard Films, Howson often wrote scripts and directed.
