Julio Irigoyen (1 July 1894 – 29 August 1967 Buenos Aires) was an Argentine film director. Irigoyen began directing in 1923. His first film was De Nuestras Pampas. He directed films such as the 1942 film '' Academia El Tango Argentino''. His last film '' Su íntimo secreto'' was released in 1948. He died in Buenos Aires in 1967, in the same house where he had been born. Vlasta Lah
Vlasta Giulia Lah Rocchi (January 13, 1913 – July 12, 1978), known professionally as Vlasta Lah, was the first woman Film director, director of sound films in Argentine cinema, as well as the only woman filmmaker in Latin America in the 1960s. Before her, the only women filmmakers in the country worked during the silent era in the 1910s and early 1920s, before the Film industry, industrial development of Argentine cinema. Lah was born in Pula, then part of Austria-Hungary, and emigrated to Buenos Aires around 1930 with her husband and fellow filmmaker Catrano Catrani. She worked extensively as an assistant director for the film studio Estudios San Miguel, in films by renowned directors of the time. ''Las furias'' (Spanish for "the furies") is a 1960 Argentine drama film directed by Vlasta Lah, based on the 1950 play of the same name by Enrique Suárez de Deza. The first Argentine sound film directed by a woman, it was the directorial debut for Lah, who became the only woman film director in 1960s Latin America. Its cast is almost exclusively female, starring Mecha Ortiz, Olga Zubarry, Aída Luz, Alba Mujica and Elsa Daniel as characters whose name are not presented, being introduced as "the Mother", "the Lover", "the Wife", "the Sister" and "the Daughter", respectively. Leopoldo Torre Nilsson (5 May 1924 – 8 September 1978), also known as Leo Towers and as Babsy, was an Argentine film director, producer and screenwriter. Born as Leopoldo Torres Nilsson (he later changed his paternal surname from Torres to Torre) was the son of Argentine pioneer film director Leopoldo Torres Ríos, with whom he collaborated between 1939 and 1949. He debuted in 1947 with the short ''El muro''. His mother was an Argentinian citizen of Swedish descent. His uncle was cinematographer Carlos Torres Ríos (1898–1956). Torre Nilsson's first full-length film, ''El crimen de Oribe'' (1950), was an adaptation of Adolfo Bioy Casares's novel ''El perjurio de la nieve''. In 1954 he directed ''Días de odio'', based on Jorge Luis Borges's short story ''Emma Zunz''. Miguel Morayta Martínez
Miguel Morayta (15 August 1907 – 19 June 2013) was a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He directed 74 films between 1944 and 1978. At the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, Morayta was a Spanish artillery officer, who joined the Republican side. After Francisco Franco's victory, he left Spain for France and Africa, finally arriving in Mexico in 1941, where he started his career. He was living in Mexico when he died aged 105.
