Akshay Bhatia
Akshay Bhatia (born January 31, 2002) is an American professional golfer. Amateur career Bhatia was born in Northridge, California, and lives in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He was runner-up at the 2018 U.S. Junior Amateur. He won two silver medals at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in the boy's individual and the mixed team with Lucy Li. He played on the Junior Presidents Cup team in 2017 and Junior Ryder Cup in 2018, with both teams winning. Bhatia made his PGA Tour debut at the 2019 Valspar Championship on a sponsorship exemption; he did, however, miss the cut. Bhatia made his Web.com Tour debut on April 18, 2019, at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Championship, where he made the cut and finished T-42. 1993 Walker Cup
The 1993 Walker Cup, the 34th Walker Cup Match, was played on August 18 and 19, 1993, at Interlachen Country Club, Edina, Minnesota. The event was won by the United States 19 to 5. The event was originally to be played at Chicago Golf Club but they withdrew in 1991 because of pressure due to their membership policy relating to minorities and women. Format The original format for play on Wednesday and Thursday was the same. There were to be four matches of foursomes in the morning and eight singles matches in the afternoon. In all, 24 matches were to be played. Because of heavy overnight rain the first day foursomes were abandoned. The format was revised so that were 10 singles matches on both days, resulting in an unchanged total of 24 matches. Each of the 24 matches was worth one point in the larger team competition. The 1963 Walker Cup, the 19th Walker Cup Match, was played on 24 and 25 May 1963, at Turnberry, Ayrshire, Scotland. The event was won by the United States 12 to 8 with 4 matches halved. This was the first Walker Cup in which 18-hole matches were played. Great Britain and Ireland took a 6 to 3 lead on the first day after Billy Joe Patton was the only singles winner for the United States. Deane Beman
} Deane R. Beman (born April 22, 1938) is an American professional golfer, golf administrator. He was the second commissioner of the PGA Tour, serving from 1974 to 1994. Early years Born in Washington, D.C., Beman attended the University of Maryland in nearby College Park, where he was a two-time All-American on the Terrapins golf team. Following graduation, Beman had a career in the insurance field. During his playing career, he qualified for the U.S. Open at age 17 in 1955. He qualified for the Masters Tournament fourteen times, won the U.S. Amateur twice (1960, 1963), and the British Amateur (1959). He also lost a playoff to Gary Cowan for the 1966 U.S. Amateur. Pro career Beman turned professional in 1967 at age 29 and won four times on the PGA Tour between 1969 and 1973. He led for two rounds at the 1969 U.S. Open and finished one shot out of a playoff. Notah Begay III
Notah Ryan Begay III (born September 14, 1972) is a Native American professional golfer. He is one of the only Native American golfers to have played in the PGA Tour. Since 2013, Begay has served as an analyst with the Golf Channel and NBC Sports. Amateur career Begay was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and graduated from a private high school, Albuquerque Academy. He attended Stanford University, where he was a three-time All-American and a teammate of Tiger Woods. He was a member of Stanford's 1994 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship team. After graduation, Begay turned professional in 1995. Professional career Nike Tour In 1998, Begay shot a 59 in the second round of the Nike Tour Dominion Open, to join the few golfers to ever shoot a 59 in a professional tournament. Rex Baxter
Rex Bernice Baxter, Jr. (born February 28, 1936) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Senior PGA Tour. A native of Amarillo, Texas, Baxter won the U.S. Junior Amateur at Tulsa's Southern Hills Country Club in 1953. He attended the University of Houston, where he was an All-American member of the golf team and individually the 1957 NCAA national champion. He won the Cajun Classic Open Invitational in 1963 and the PGA Professional National Championship in 1970. His best finish in a major is T-33 at the 1960 U.S. Open. Baxter was inducted into the University of Houston Athletics Hall of Honor in 1971; he was the first member of the golf team to receive this honor.
