This is a list of player signings and releases involving Super Rugby teams prior to the end of the 2016 Super Rugby season. The release of a player that was included in a 2015 Super Rugby season squad, or the signing of a new player for the 2016 season is listed here regardless of when it occurred. Players that have been confirmed for the 2016 season are also listed, regardless of when they signed for the team. Australian and New Zealand teams name their squads for the 2016 season – typically containing 32–35 players – in late 2015. Many sides also name additional players that train in backup or development squads for the franchises. These players are denoted by ''(wider training group)'' for New Zealand teams, or ''(extended playing squad)'' for Australian teams. In South Africa, all teams have affiliated provincial sides playing in their domestic Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup competitions. Lock (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and Line-out (rugby union), line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. Props push in the scrums, while the hooker tries to secure the ball for their team by "hooking" it back with their heel. The hooker is also the one who is responsible for throwing the ball in at line-outs, where it is mostly competed for by the locks, who are generally the tallest players on the team. Club Newman
Club Newman is an Argentine sports club located in the city of Benavídez of Tigre Partido, Greater Buenos Aires. The club is mostly known for its rugby union team, which currently plays in the Top 12, the first division of the Unión de Rugby de Buenos Aires league system. Newman's facilities also host other sports such as field hockey, football, golf, show jumping and tennis. History The club was founded on December 15, 1975, by alumni of Cardinal Newman College. The first facilities were located in Benavidez, a district in Tigre Partido. The college had been established by the order of the Christian Brothers. In 2004, the rugby team of the club reached the Torneo de la URBA semi-finals (where they lost to Alumni), one of its most important achievements, since they have never won any championships. Julián Montoya
Julián Montoya (born 29 October 1993) is an Argentine rugby union player currently playing for the Leicester Tigers in England's Premiership Rugby, the top domestic level of rugby union. He plays as a hooker. Montoya played for Club Newman domestically in Argentina and Pampas XV. He played for the in SANZAAR's Super Rugby, from 2016 to 2020. He has been an international since 2014. He was Premiership Rugby champion in 2022 with Leicester. Career Montoya played for Argentina national under-20 rugby union team at the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship. Worcester Warriors Rugby Football Club is a professional rugby union club, based in Worcester, England, that is currently in Administration (law), administration and which has been suspended and will be relegated from Premiership Rugby, the top division of domestic rugby.
