Capital Punishment In Nevada
Capital punishment is a legal penalty in the U.S. state of Nevada. There have been no executions in Nevada since 2006, in part because of a shortage of drugs used in executions by lethal injection. In April 2021, the Nevada Assembly passed a bill that would have repealed the capital punishment statute. However, the state senate did not act on the matter after Governor Steve Sisolak said that he believes some crimes deserve the death penalty, suggesting that he would veto the bill. Kenny Guinn
Kenneth Carroll Guinn (August 24, 1936 – July 22, 2010), was an American academic administrator, businessman and politician who served as the 27th Governor of Nevada from 1999 to 2007 and interim president of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) from 1994 to 1995. Originally a Democrat, he later joined the Republican Party prior to being elected governor. Early life and career Guinn was born in Garland, Arkansas and reared in Exeter, California. Robert Joseph Miller (born March 30, 1945) is an American former attorney and politician who served as the 26th Governor of Nevada from 1989 to 1999. A member of the Democratic Party, he had previously served as the Lieutenant Governor of Nevada from 1987 to 1989. Lethal injection is the practice of injecting one or more drugs into a person (typically a barbiturate, paralytic, and potassium solution) for the express purpose of causing rapid death. Robert Frank "Bob" List (born September 1, 1936) is an American attorney and politician. He served as the 24th Governor of Nevada from 1979 to 1983. He was raised in Exeter, California.
