Walter Murray Wonham
Walter Murray Wonham (1934–2023) is a Canadian control theorist and professor at the University of Toronto. He dealt with multi-variable geometric control theory, stochastic control and stochastic filters, and more recently the control of discrete event systems from the standpoint of mathematical logic and formal languages. Education Wonham attended a boys’ school and preferred individual to team sports, taking up sailing and tennis. Wonham obtained his bachelor's degree in engineering physics from McGill University in 1956, and then a doctorate in stochastic control from the University of Cambridge in 1961. Anant Pai (17 September 1929 – 24 February 2011), popularly known as Uncle Pai, was an Indian educationalist and a pioneer in Indian comics. He is most famous as the creator of two comic book series viz. ''Amar Chitra Katha'', which retold traditional Indian folk tales, mythological stories, and biographies of historical characters; and ''Tinkle'', a children's anthology. William Levine (engineer)
William P. Levine (July 1, 1915 – March 29, 2013) was a United States Army officer. During World War II, he served in the US Army as an intelligence officer. Levine was among the first Allied Forces to enter the Dachau concentration camp in Germany. He would eventually rise to the rank of Major General. After the war, he was active in the Chicago Jewish community. Early life Levine was born in Duluth, Minnesota, to Joseph and Sadie Levine. He was the eldest of four brothers. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1937. After graduation, he worked in retail sales before being drafted into the Army in 1942. Military career Levine graduated from the Army's Officer Candidate School in May 1943. He served with the 34th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Group as an intelligence officer. Robert Fenton (engineer)
William Robert Fenton (9 October 1923 – 10 January 2013), known as Bob Fenton, was a New Zealand politician of the National Party. Biography Fenton was born on 9 October 1923 at Napier, and was educated at Hastings High School. He served in World War II in the New Zealand Army and in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. In 1951, he married Dorothy Alice Ferrier, and the couple went on to have five children. Fenton was a regional governor of the New Zealand chapter of Jaycees in 1960, and a world governor of Junior Chamber International. Fenton was strongly opposed to political interference in sport and held strong views on the rugby matches between South Africa and New Zealand.
