Dutch Top 40
The Dutch Top 40 ( nl, Nederlandse Top 40) is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Joost den Draaijer initiated the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The show currently airs on Fridays from 2 to 6 PM on Qmusic. History On January 2, 1965, the first Top 40 was compiled, with its first #1 hit "''I Feel Fine''" by The Beatles. In September 1974, the Stichting Nederlandse Top 40 bought the Top 40 and named it ''De Nederlandse Top 40''. The Dutch Top 40 is one of the four official charts in the Netherlands, the other three being the B2B Single Top 100, which is based entirely on pure sales and streaming, the Mega Top 30 from (NPO 3FM) which, like the Dutch Top 40 also includes airplay data and the 538 Top 50. Freddy Breck
Freddy Breck (''Gerhard Breker''; 21 January 1942, in Sonneberg, Thuringia – 17 December 2008, in Rottach-Egern, Upper Bavaria) was a German schlager singer, composer, record producer, and news anchor. Breck studied to be a machinist, then studied singing under Heinz Gietz. He sang schlager songs which were based on well-known classical melodies. His first success was "Überall auf der Welt", based on Va, pensiero from Giuseppe Verdi's ''Nabucco''. This he recorded in English as "We Believe in Tomorrow" and released it as a single in late 1972 - it topped the South African Charts in early 1973. He went on to score 5 platinum records and 35 gold records over the course of his career. In 1978, he issued an English language disc. In the 1980s, he worked as a news presenter for various stations, and wrote music for groups such as the Original Naabtal Duo, the Kastelruther Spatzen and Nina & Mike. Gerardus Antonius "Gerard" Cox (born 6 March 1940, Rotterdam) is a Dutch singer, cabaret artist, actor, and director. For fifteen years, he played the lead character of the Dutch sitcom ''Toen Was Geluk Heel Gewoon''. Life In 2018, Cox had a leading role in the RTL 4 alternative comedy series '' Beter Laat Dan Nooit'', where he travels around the world with other Dutch celebrities, which include Peter Faber, Willibrord Frequin, and Barrie Stevens. In 2020, he was involved with a film which also starred his former wife Joke Bruijs. They had ended their marriage years before after realising that they were just good friends. In 2022, they starred in the film '' Casa Coco''. "Schönes Mädchen aus Arcadia" is a song by Greek singer Demis Roussos. It was released as a single in 1973 and was also part of Demis Roussos' 1974 German-language album '' Auf Wiedersehn''. There was also an English version of the song, called "Lovely Lady of Arcadia". The English version was included on Roussos's 1974 English-language album '' My Only Fascination''. The Hollies
The Hollies are a British pop rock band, formed in 1962. One of the leading British groups of the 1960s and into the mid-1970s, they are known for their distinctive three-part vocal harmony style. Allan Clarke (singer), Allan Clarke and Graham Nash founded the band as a Merseybeat-type group in Manchester, although some of the band members came from towns further north in East Lancashire. Nash left the group in 1968 to form Crosby, Stills & Nash, though he has reunited with the Hollies on occasion.
