Overview Lolland is also known as the "pancake island" because of its flatness: the highest point of the entire island is above sea level, just outside the village of Horslunde. Dannemare
Dannemare is a village on the Danish island of Lolland located 11 km south of Nakskov and 19 km west of Rødby. As of 2022, it has a population of 406. History and heritage The area has a long history. A tomb from the 1st century AD has been discovered in Hoby while communities such as Tillitse and Kuditse have Wendian names indicating they were founded by the Wends before the 13th century. The area is also home to the historic manor houses of Ølligesøgård and Bådesgård. The runestone in Tillitse churchyard is from the early 11th century. Holeby
Holeby is a small town in Lolland Municipality, in Region Zealand, Denmark. It was the seat of Holeby Municipality. Fuglse Church
Fuglse Church is a parish church located some south of Maribo on the Danish island of Lolland. The original Romanesque church was almost totally rebuilt in the Renaissance style in the late 16th century. Fejø Kirke
Fejø is a Danish island north of Lolland. It covers an area of and has 611 permanent inhabitants (1 January 2005). Its population expands in Summer since many Danes have summerhouses and there is an influx of other tourists. Fejø has two villages: ''Vesterby'' and ''Østerby'', connected by a single main road. Fejø has two main harbors, Vesterbyhavn and Dybvighavn. The island has a cafe, restaurant, shop, retirement home, church, primary school, mill, and a resident doctor. It has a windmill which was restored and started grinding corn for the first time in decades in June 2013.
