The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Yemen is the United Kingdom's foremost diplomatic representative in Yemen, and head of the UK's diplomatic mission in Sana'a. Operations at the British Embassy in Sana'a were temporarily suspended on 11 February 2015 due to the deteriorating security situation which preceded the Yemeni Civil War. The ambassador and his team are currently based in Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Mark Marshall (diplomat)
Mark Anthony Marshall (born 5 May 1987) is a Jamaican professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Carshalton Athletic. Marshall began his career with non-League sides Carshalton Athletic, Grays Athletic and Eastleigh, before winning a move into the English Football League with Swindon Town in August 2008. He was loaned out to Hereford United in September 2009, before he joined Barnet in July 2010. Michael Aron
Michael Douglas Aron (born 22 March 1959) is a British diplomat who has been Ambassador to Kuwait, Iraq, Libya and Sudan, and Yemen. Career Aron was educated at Exeter School, Leeds University and the Polytechnic of Central London. He taught English in Sudan before joining the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1984. He has served at New York, Brasilia and Brussels. He was Ambassador to Kuwait 2008–09, Head of the Middle East Department at the FCO 2010–11, Ambassador to Iraq 2011–12, acting Head of Mission at Tripoli September 2012 to January 2013, and Ambassador to Libya from January 2013 until June 2015. Simon Shercliff
Simon Shercliff (born 23 December 1972) is a British diplomat, and Ambassador to Iran. Education and career Shercliff was educated at Wells Cathedral School. He graduated from St Catharine's College, Cambridge in 1995, with a degree in Earth Sciences. Shercliff took up his first posting with the (then) Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2000, as a political officer in the Embassy in Tehran, Iran, in 2000. He was subsequently deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as Private Secretary to Jeremy Greenstock, who was the UK's Special Representative to Iraq.
