Auto racing (also known as car racing, motor racing, or automobile racing) is a motorsport involving the racing of automobiles for competition. Auto racing has existed since the invention of the automobile. Races of various sorts were organised, with the first recorded as early as 1867. Many of the earliest events were effectively Classic trials, reliability trials, aimed at proving these new machines were a practical mode of transport, but soon became an important way for automobile makers to demonstrate their machines. By the 1930s, specialist racing cars had developed. There are now numerous different categories, each with different rules and regulations. Australian Drivers' Championship
The Australian Drivers' Championship was a motor racing championship contested annually from 1957 to 2014 by drivers of cars complying with Australia's premier open-wheeler racing category as determined by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport. From 2005 to 2014 this category was Australian Formula 3, Formula 3 and the championship was promoted as the Formula 3 Australian Drivers' Championship. Satoshi Motoyama
Satoshi Motoyama (本山哲 - Motoyama Satoshi; born March 4, 1971) is a Japanese professional racing driver and team manager. He is best known for racing in the Super GT Series, formerly known as the All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) as a factory driver for Nissan, and for racing in the Formula Nippon Championship (now known as the Super Formula Championship). He is a three-time champion of the GT500 class of Super GT, and a four-time Formula Nippon/Super Formula champion, making him one of the most successful Japanese racing drivers of all-time. Super Formula Championship
The Japanese Super Formula Championship is a formula racing series. It is considered as being the top level of single-seater racing in Japan and regional motorsports in Asia. The series is sanctioned by the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) and managed by Japan Race Promotion (JRP). The first Japanese Top Formula championship was held in 1973 as the All-Japan Formula 2000 Championship. In 1978, the series transformed into the All-Japan Formula Two Championship, and again in 1987, into the All-Japan Formula 3000 Championship. For the most part, these Japanese racing series closely followed their European counterparts in terms of technical regulations. The JRP was established in 1995, and began managing the series in 1996, under its new name, the Formula Nippon Championship. 2001 Formula Chrysler Euroseries
The 2001 Formula Chrysler Euroseries season was the inaugural and only Formula Chrysler Euroseries season. It featured seven races at four European racing circuits during the latter half of 2001. Ricardo Van Der Ende
Ricardo van der Ende (born 13 July 1979 in Poeldijk) is a Dutch racing driver. He won the 2001 Formula Chrysler Euroseries season with the Belgian team of Vortex Motorsport. He also won the Winter Series of the British Formula Ford Championship in 1998 and the Formula Ford Festival in 1999. Later on he went karting and became Dutch champion of the Dutch Rotax Max Challenge in 2003. In 2004 he became European and French karting champion of ICC 125cc. He switched to single-seat race cars in 2004. In 2005 he began touring car racing, and drove the Dutch BMW 130i Cup in 2006. He placed second that year. In 2007 van der Ende was crowned champion. In 2009 he competed in the Dutch GT4 Championship with a BMW M3 GT4, where he came in 2nd in the final ranking. 2009 was less successful for van der Ende, and he finished 6th in the Dutch GT4 Championship. Formula Chrysler Euroseries
The Formula Chrysler Euroseries was a single-make open-wheel racing series based in Europe. It ran only in 2001. History Launched as the International Single Seater Challenge the series had to fill the gap between national Formula Three championship and the Formula 3000 series. The car was first tested by Guy Smith in November 2000 at Donington Park. The initial season started with a promotional event at Circuit Park Zandvoort. Eight drivers were present at the event. However, the race was stopped early as there were only two cars running after eight laps. Anthony Kumpen won the race, he finished in front of Aldo Piedade, Jr.. The official season started on August 25 at the Österreichring in Austria. Six drivers started the first race with Charles Hall winning. Felipe Massa
Felipe Massa (, born 25 April 1981) is a Brazilian racing driver. He competed in 15 seasons of Formula One between 2002 and 2017, where he scored 11 Grand Prix victories, 41 podiums and finished as championship runner-up in 2008 by one point. He currently competes full-time in the Brazilian Stock Car Pro Series, driving the No. 19 Chevrolet Cruze for Lubrax Podium. Massa started his career in go-karting from the age of eight continuing in national and regional championships for seven years. He moved into Formula Chevrolet and claimed the championship. He moved in Italian Formula Renault in 2000 and won the title along with the European championship. He went into Euro Formula 3000 taking the championship in 2001. Euro Formula 3000
Auto GP, sometimes referred to as the Auto GP World Series and formerly known as both Euro Formula 3000 and the Euroseries 3000, was a European formula racing series. The series' roots can be traced back to 1999 and the Italian Formula 3000 series, organised by Pierluigi Corbari, which used old Lola chassis with Zytek engines. The teams used the Lola T96/50 in the first two years. At the beginning nearly all races were held in Italy, but very quickly the series expanded and had venues in different European countries. The series became European Formula 3000 in 2001. The next three years (2001–2003) saw the Lola B99/50 in use. For 2004, Superfund became the series' title sponsor, planning to use a new car with a new set of regulations, named Formula Superfund, but the funding was pulled before the 2005 season got under way and the series was cancelled. Nicolas Rondet
Nicolas Rondet is a former Barber Dodge Pro Series and Atlantic Championship driver from Melle, Deux-Sèvres, France. Career history After he was born in France he grew up in Brazil and started karting. After a short career in karting and single-seaters the young driver switched to touring cars. He won his first season in the French Citroën AX Cup in 1993. The following season Rondet finished fifth in the series. After this success he moved to the United States of America to race in the Skip Barber Western Series. In his second season the French driver won the championship and the Skip Barber Big Scholarship. The scholarship secured him a seat in the 1997 Barber Dodge Pro Series season. The season was successful as he won one race and scored another two podium finishes. The following season he secured his seat due to his sponsors.
