Lisa Moore (musician)
Lisa Moore (born 1960) is an Australian/American internationally renowned pianist. Moore was born in Canberra, Australia, one of three children to an art historian and a prominent economist. Her early life included overseas travel, and by the age of 16, she had visited more than a dozen countries and lived in Sydney and London. Moore's development as an artist can be traced to her formative years in Canberra during the 1970s. A succession of "strange and interesting people" through her childhood included the Australian painter Charles Blackman. Moore was raised in both Australia and London (1971–73). She studied piano at the Sydney Conservatorium from 1976 until 1980 before moving to the USA to complete her musical training. With an Alliance Française grant, Moore spent a year (1982–83) in Paris before moving back to the USA and settling in New York City in 1985. Lisa Moore (born 28 March 1964) is a Canadian writer and editor established in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Biography Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Moore studied art first at College of the North Atlantic in her home province and then at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Although she had intended to follow a career in the visual arts, she now writes full-time. Moore's work primarily takes place in Newfoundland. She has worked to promote different writers and places of the province by compiling local artists' text and writing articles about Newfoundland communities. In her new book "The Democracy Cookbook" Moore writes a non- partisan approach to "stir up conversations around cabinet tables". Moore's daughter Eva Crocker is also a writer, whose debut short story collection ''Barrelling Forward'' was published in 2017. Lisa Jean Moore (born January 2, 1967) is SUNY Distinguished Professor oSociology and Gender Studies at the State University of New York Purchase College. She was born in New York State, received a BA from Tufts University, a Masters of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley and a PhD from the University of California, San Francisco. After receiving her doctoral degree in 1995, Moore was a fellow in the National Institutes of Mental Health, Traineeship in AIDS Prevention Sciences at the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies, the largest research center in the world dedicated to social, behavioral and policy science approaches to HIV. She lives in Crown Heights, Brooklyn with her family. 2006 United States Figure Skating Championships
The 2006 U.S. Figure Skating Championships took place between January 7 and 15, 2006 at the Savvis Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Skaters competed in four disciplines – men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing – across three levels: senior, junior, and novice. Medals were awarded in four colors: gold (first), silver (second), bronze (third), and pewter (fourth). The event was used to determine the U.S. teams for the 2006 Winter Olympics, the 2006 World Championships, the 2006 Four Continents Championships, and the 2006 World Junior Championships.
