Lippy's Garden
Lippy's Garden was a post-punk band formed in 1984 in Glendora, California. The band consisted of David Milhous (drums and background vocals), his cousin Mark Bollinger (vocals and lead guitar), James Ross (keyboards), and Rob Salter (bass). The four were nicknamed "Corn", "Milo", "Stuart", and "Raw", respectively. Their album "The Etiquette and Economics of Escape" was produced and recorded during the summer of 1985 at Loyola Marymount University by the son of legendary live television producer Marty Pasetta. Marty produced hundreds of hours of television including Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite. The band's sound incorporated funk, punk, and new wave. Glendora, California
Glendora is a city in the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles County, California, east of Los Angeles. As of the 2020 census, the population of Glendora was 52,558. Post Punk
Post-punk (originally called new musick) is a broad genre of punk music that emerged in the late 1970s as musicians departed from punk's traditional elements and raw simplicity, instead adopting a variety of avant-garde sensibilities and non-rock influences. Inspired by punk's energy and DIY ethic but determined to break from rock cliches, artists experimented with styles like funk, electronic music, jazz, and dance music; the production techniques of dub and disco; and ideas from art and politics, including critical theory, modernist art, cinema and literature. David Milhous
David Milhous (born July 9, 1967) is a motion picture editor. He is known best as the editor of ''Crime Watch Daily'', which won the Emmy award for Editing in 2017. Milhous has been elected to membership in the American Cinema Editors (ACE. He is also a founding member of the American post-punk band Lippy's Garden. Milhous spent a number of years editing news at CNN in Atlanta before turning to more dramatic long form storytelling at Paramount Pictures and Warner Brothers Entertainment in Hollywood. Marty Pasetta
Martin Allen Pasetta (June 16, 1932 – May 21, 2015) was an American television producer and director, best known for his work on the telecasts for multiple awards shows, including the Oscars, the Grammys, and the AFI Life Achievement Awards. He also directed ''The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour'' along with the game shows ''Wheel of Fortune (U.S. game show), Wheel of Fortune'' and ''Love Connection''. ''Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite'' is a concert starring Elvis Presley that took place at the Honolulu International Center and was broadcast live via satellite to audiences in Asia and Oceania on January 14, 1973. The show was presented with a delay in Europe. In the United States, to avoid a programming conflict with Super Bowl VII and ''Elvis on Tour'' which was playing in cinemas at the time, NBC opted to air a ninety-minute television special of the concert on April 4. Presley returned to performing tours throughout the United States in 1970. Richard Nixon's 1972 visit to China inspired Presley's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, to promote a live broadcast concert featuring the singer and he arranged a deal with RCA Records and the NBC network to produce one.
