Eliot Lipp
Eliot Lipp is an American electronic music artist and DJ based in Brooklyn, New York. His work was picked up by Scott Herren of Prefuse 73 (Warp Records) after Herren heard him working the club circuit. In 2004, Lipp released his first studio album, '' S/T'', with Eastern Developments Music, a label owned by Warp Records. Background Lipp was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington and attended art school in San Francisco. After graduating from college, he moved to Los Angeles, Chicago, and back to LA before finally settling in Brooklyn in 2006. Career While in Chicago, Lipp produced two full-length albums; by the time he moved to Brooklyn, he had plenty of material to work with. His work made its way into the hands of Scott Herren (Warp Records) and Savath+Savalas (Hefty Records), better known as Prefuse 73. Maria Lipp
Maria Lipp (6 April 1892 in Stolberg (Rhineland) – 12 December 1966 in Aachen) was a German organic chemist. She was the first female doctoral student, professor, and ordinary professor at the RWTH Aachen University. Life Lipp was born in Stolberg (Rheinland) as the daughter of Karl Savelsberg and Friederike de Nys. She was later adopted by the chemist Julius Bredt. In 1913, she started studying chemistry at the TH Aachen. She completed her diploma with distinction in 1917 and was the first female doctoral student at the TH Aachen. She completed her doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) with distinction in 1918 and her habilitation in organic chemistry again at the TH Aachen in 1923. In 1925, she married Peter Lipp, a professor for organic chemistry at the TH Aachen. She became an extraordinary professor at the TH Aachen in 1938. Heino Lipp
Heino Lipp (June 21, 1922 – August 28, 2006) was an Estonian athlete, who was one of the greatest decathlete in the decade of the 1940s, but he was never able to compete in the Olympic Games, because citizens of the Soviet Union were never allowed to travel outside the Soviet Union dominated Iron Curtain countries. He also competed in the shot put, making 6 European records in the event. Career Heino Lipp, born in Erra Parish (now Lüganuse Parish) near Kiviõli, Estonia was one of the great decathletes in history, but all his achievements have been obscured in the era of the Cold War politics. He was an Estonian, whose family were prominent advocates of Estonian sovereignty and brother was deemed a disloyal Estonian nationalist and was eventually murdered in a camp in Siberia. Martin Lipp
Martin Lipp ( in Vooru, Viljandi Parish – 8 March 1923 in Tallinn) was an Estonian poet. He is best known as the author of the poem "The Estonian Flag", which was set to the music of the then young composer Enn Võrk. Thomas Charles Lipp ''born Thomas Charles Lieb'' (June 4, 1870 – May 30, 1932) was an American professional baseball player who played in one game for the Philadelphia Phillies during the season. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and died there at the age of 61. Lipp played for numerous minor league teams during his professional career. While in the minors, he was both a pitcher and an outfielder. His career began with the Lynchburg Hill Climbers of the independent Virginia League in 1894. In 1896, he played for four separate minor league teams. Wilma Lipp
Wilma Lipp (; 26 April 1925 – 26 January 2019) was an Austrian operatic soprano and academic voice teacher. A long-time member of the Vienna State Opera, she was particularly associated with the role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart's ''Die Zauberflöte'', a role she performed internationally more than 400 times. She was awarded the title Kammersängerin at age 28, and was an honorary member of the Vienna State Opera, among other honours. Career Lipp studied in Vienna with Friedel Sindel, Paola Novikova, Anna Bahr-Mildenburg and Alfred Jerger, and also with Toti Dal Monte in Milan. Brasserie Lipp is a brasserie located at 151 Boulevard Saint-Germain in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. It sponsors an annual literary prize, the Prix Cazes, named for a previous owner. History On , Léonard Lipp and his wife Pétronille opened the brasserie on the Boulevard Saint-Germain. Their speciality was a cervelat rémoulade starter, then choucroute garnie, served with the finest beers. The brasserie's atmosphere and its modest prices made it a great success. Anti-German sentiment during the First World War led to a change of name to Brasserie des Bords for several years. Of Alsatian origin, Lipp left Alsace when it became part of Germany. In July 1920, the bougnat (Paris immigrant) Marcellin Cazes redesigned the brasserie, which had become frequented by poets such as Paul Verlaine and Guillaume Apollinaire.
