Lionel Brown (born September 17, 1987) is a professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper. Born in Jamaica, he plays for the US Virgin Islands internationally. Career Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Brown made his professional debut for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on June 29, 2013, against the San Antonio Scorpions in which he started in goal as Fort Lauderdale lost the match 4–1. After serving as Miami FC's backup keeping since 2016, Brown made his first Miami FC appearance on April 15, 2018. He came on as a field player in the 88th minute, relieving defender Rhett Bernstein. International He made his debut for the United States Virgin Islands national soccer team on March 22, 2019, in a CONCACAF Nations League qualifier against Anguilla, as a starter. The 2014 North American Soccer League season was the 47th season of Division II soccer in the United States and the fourth season of the revived North American Soccer League. It was contested by ten teams including two from Canada. National Independent Soccer Association
The National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) is a professional men's soccer league in the United States. The league is in the third tier of American soccer and began play in 2019. NISA initially used a fall-to-spring season format with a winter break but have switched to spring-to-fall which is more common in the United States. History League beginnings On June 6, 2017, it was announced that the newly formed National Independent Soccer Association would begin play in 2018 targeting an initial 8 to 10 teams, later revised to 8 to 12 teams. The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is an American men's association football, soccer league. The NPSL is a semi-professional league, comprising some teams that have paid players and some that are entirely amateur. The league is officially affiliated to the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and has automatic qualification for the U.S. Open Cup. It is the successor of the Men's Premier Soccer League, a regional league originally based in the Western United States, which has now expanded nationwide to encompass teams from 29 states. 2018 NPSL Season
The 2018 National Premier Soccer League season was part of the 106th season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer in the United States and the 16th season of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). Elm City Express was the defending champion. The 2018 NPSL champion qualifies to play for the 2019 Hank Steinbrecher Cup organized by the United States Adult Soccer Association. The NPSL has elected to use results of the 2018 league season to determine which NPSL clubs qualify for the 2019 U.S. Open Cup.
