"A Perfect Day" (first line: "When you come to the end of a perfect day") is a parlor song written by Carrie Jacobs-Bond (1862–1946) in 1909 at the Mission Inn, Riverside, California. Jacobs-Bond wrote the lyrics after watching the sun set over Mount Rubidoux from her 4th-floor room. She came up with the tune three months later while touring the Mojave Desert. For many years the Mission Inn played "A Perfect Day" on its carillon at the end of each day. Popularity "A Perfect Day" was phenomenally successful when first published in 1910. Eight million copies of the sheet music and five million recordings sold within a year; 25 million copies of the sheet music sold during Jacobs-Bond's lifetime, and many millions of recordings circulated as various artists performed the song on the fast-growing means of audio duplication. Mark Lindquist (born 1949) is an United States, American Sculpture, sculptor in wood, Painting, artist, author, and Photography, photographer. Lindquist is a major figure in the redirection and resurgence of woodturning in the United States beginning in the early 1970s. His communication of his ideas through teaching, writing, and exhibiting, has resulted in many of his pioneering aesthetics and techniques becoming common practice. In the exhibition catalog for a 1995 retrospective of Lindquist's works at the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, his contributions to woodturning and wood sculpture are described as "so profound and far-reaching that they have reconstituted the field". Lindquist Island is an island in Queensland, Australia. It is within the locality of Cowley Beach in Cassowary Coast Region. It forms part of the Cowley Beach Training Area military base. Lindquist Field is a stadium in Ogden, Utah, United States. It is primarily used for baseball and is the home field of the Ogden Raptors independent minor league baseball team of the Pioneer League. Vic Lindquist
Victor Carl Lindquist (March 22, 1908 – November 30, 1983) was a Canadian ice hockey player who competed in the 1932 Winter Olympics. Lindquist was born in Gold Rock, Ontario. Lindquist led the Winnipeg Hockey Club, the Canadian team which won the gold medal at the 1932 Winter Olympics. He played five matches and scored three goals. He was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 1997. He is also a member of the North Western Ontario Sports Hall of Fame. He coached the Swedish national team at the 1936 Olympics. Lindquist was nominated by Canadian Amateur Hockey Association president Jack Roxburgh to represent Canada as a referee at the 1962 Ice Hockey World Championships. Susan Lee Lindquist, ForMemRS (June 5, 1949 – October 27, 2016) was an American professor of biology at MIT specializing in molecular biology, particularly the protein folding problem within a family of molecules known as heat-shock proteins, and prions. Lindquist was a member and former director of the Whitehead Institute and was awarded the National Medal of Science in 2010. Early life and education Lindquist was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Iver and Eleanor (née Maggio), and attended Maine South High School in Park Ridge.
