Linden Park, Massachusetts
Linden Park is a small municipal park at Linden Place and Linden Street in Brookline, Massachusetts, USA. The triangular park was created in 1843 as one of several parks in the Lindens subdivision of the area by Thomas Aspinwall Davis, which was the first residential subdivision created in Brookline. In addition to generous setbacks, the deeds for the lots of this subdivision contained covenants excluding the sale to "Negroes or natives of Ireland". The park and neighborhood were designed by Alexander Wadsworth, and the park was originally held in common by the surrounding property owners. The park is now partially surrounded by wrought iron fencing, and has grassy areas and a playground. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Linden Park, Queens
Linden Park, officially known as Park of the Americas, is a park located in the center of the Corona neighborhood of Queens, New York City. It has stood out as a green square block on maps since the village of West Flushing was first mapped out in 1853, long before the village became the suburb or urban neighborhood known as Corona. History The residents of Corona, known as West Flushing before 1872, often held events such as summer band concerts in this park. The event that turned Corona from a suburb into an urban neighborhood was the construction of the Interborough Rapid Transit Company's Flushing Line (now the New York City Subway's ) to 103rd Street–Corona Plaza station on April 21, 1917. To commemorate this event, local dignitaries and residents held a celebration that night in Linden Park with a concert. The park's popular landmark and namesake was the natural, spring-fe ...
