Liludi Dharti (Film)
''Liludi Dharati'' () is a 1968 Gujarati social drama film directed by Vallabh Choksi. It stars Daizy Irani, Mahesh Desai, Kala Shah, Champshibhai Nagda, Upendra Kumar, Kishore Bhatt, Narahari Jani, Vina Prabhu, Vanalata Mehta. The film was adapted from Gujarati writer Chunilal Madia's novel of the same name. It was the first ORWO colour film of Gujarati cinema. Plot The film follows a love story of Gobar and Santu, and is set in a rural background. It depicts the struggle of negative influence among characters and their corrupted desires. Antagonists such as Mandal and Shardul inject doubt in the lives of the couple. An unexpected twist comes in the form of the death of Gobar, which leads to Santu's loss of mental balance. After the death of Gobar, the family encounters financial stress. As a result, Santu and her sister-in-law turn to farming. Gobar's brother returns and joins the ploughing. Chunilal Madia
Chunilal Madia (12 August 1922 – 29 December 1968) was a Gujarati author from Gujarat, India, primarily known for his novels and short stories set in rural Saurashtra. Recipients of several awards, he is considered one of the leading writers of Gujarati literature. Biography Chunilal Madia's ancestors had immigrated to Dhoraji (now in Rajkot district, Gujarat) from Nikava village in Halar region. He was born in middle class Jain Baniya family on 12 August 1922 in Dhoraji to a grocery shop owner Kalidas Jadavji and his wife Prankunwar aka Kasumbabahen. Chunilal was youngest among ten siblings, of whom only five survived till adulthood. Avinash Vyas
Avinash Vyas was an Indian music composer, lyricist and singer of Gujarati films who composed music for over 190 Gujarati films. He was a winner of Gujarat State Film award for the best lyricist and best music 25 times. He was honoured by the Government of India in 1970 with Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award. Biography Avinash Vyas was born in the Indian state of Gujarat on 21 July 1912 and had his initial music training under Ustad Allauddin Khan. Mukesh Chand Mathur (22 July 1923 – 27 August 1976), better known mononymously as Mukesh, was an Indian playback singer. Mukesh is considered to be one of the most popular and acclaimed playback singers of the Hindi film industry.
