Lillie (TV Series)
''Lillie'' is a British television serial made by London Weekend Television for ITV and broadcast from 24 September to 17 December 1978. This period serial stars Francesca Annis in the title role of Lillie Langtry. She had played the same character in the 1975 ATV serial ''Edward the Seventh'' and many of the same writers and directors that were responsible for that series helped to create this one. Other actors featured include Anton Rodgers as Edward Langtry, Peter Egan as Oscar Wilde, Brian Deacon as Frank Miles, Jennie Linden as Patsy Cornwallis-West, Don Fellows as James Whistler, David Gwillim as Arthur Jones and Annette Crosbie as Henrietta Labouchere. Denis Lill played Bertie the Prince of Wales, later Edward the VII. He had played Frederick Ponsonby to Timothy West's Edward in the aforementioned ''Edward the Seventh'' whereas Crosbie played Queen Victoria in that production. The series has a total of 13 episodes. Denis Lill
Denis Lill (born 22 April 1942) is a New Zealand-born British actor. He is best known for his roles in '' Survivors'' as Charles Vaughan, ''Only Fools and Horses'' as Alan Parry, ''Outside Edge'' as Dennis Broadley and as Consultant General Surgeon Mr Rose in the ITV1 medical drama ''The Royal''. Career Lill joined the RNZAF as a 13–course BES cadet entrant in 1959. It was in the RNZAF that he first expressed an interest in amateur dramatics and a fondness for mimicking characters of the BBC's ''The Goon Show''. Throughout his air force career, he involved himself in operatic and theatric productions. He left New Zealand for Britain in 1967. Mary Adelaide Virginia Thomasina Eupatoria "Patsy" Cornwallis-West (née FitzPatrick; The Vale, Bailieborough 28 October 1854 – 21 July 1920) was an Irish-born aristocrat and a prominent mistress of the future King Edward VII. Early life Cornwallis-West was born into an upper-class Irish family as the daughter of the Rev. Frederick, a descendant of Barnaby Fitzpatrick, 1st Baron Upper Ossory, and Lady Olivia FitzPatrick, daughter of Thomas Taylour, 2nd Marquess of Headfort. Peggy Ann Wood
Peggy Ann Wood (14 June 1912 – 30 May 1998) was a British actress, director and theatre manager associated heavily with the Bristol Old Vic. In partnership with her husband, Ronald Russell (1910–1994), she ran the repertory company the Rapier Players, based in Bristol's Colston Hall. During the Second World War, Peggy Ann Wood ran the theatre whilst Ronnie served in the Police War Reserves, and once the Prince's Theatre had been bombed in November 1940, the Rapier Players provided the only live theatre in the city of Bristol. The contribution of Ronnie Russell and Peggy Ann Wood to the theatrical heritage of Bristol was commemorated with a Blue Plaque Ceremony in July 2002, which is situated on the outside of Colston Hall, Bristol. Patrick Holt (31 January 1912 – 12 October 1993) was an English film and television actor. Biography Born Patrick G. Parsons in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Holt spent some of his childhood in India with his uncle, after which he was sent to Christ's Hospital, a famous charity school in Britain. Here he formed a close friendship with a boy in the same boarding house, the future film star Michael Wilding. Alibi is a British pay television channel that was launched on 1 November 1997 as UK Arena. It was renamed UK Drama in 2000, and then UKTV Drama in 2004, and assumed its current name on 7 October 2008. History The channel originally launched as part of the new four channel UKTV network on 1 November 1997. Prince Of Wales
Prince of Wales ( cy, Tywysog Cymru, ; la, Princeps Cambriae/Walliae) is a title traditionally given to the heir apparent to the English and later British throne.
