Albert Lightfoot
Albert Lightfoot (8 January 1936 – 30 April 2023) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Northamptonshire from 1953 to 1970. County career Lightfoot joined Northamptonshire in 1953, and was awarded his county cap in 1961. He also made First-Class appearances for the Combined Services (in 1955), TN Pearce's XI (1962), a Players team (1962 also), and AER Gilligan's XI (1963). He played 294 first-class matches, and also 31 one-day matches from 1963 up until his retirement, a format he never quite adapted to with bat or ball. Lightfoot bowled for the last time in 1968, before retiring altogether in 1970. Lightfoot was signed principally as a medium-fast bowler, but he soon emerged as a talented left-handed batsman, with his breakthrough being a maiden century against Surrey at The Oval in 1958, when he helped Raman Subba Row add a record-breaking 376 for the sixth wicket. James Ross Lightfoot (born September 27, 1938) is an American businessman-broadcaster who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Iowa. Early life Lightfoot was born in the Florence Crittenton Home for Unwed Mothers in Sioux City, Iowa. He was raised on a farm near Farragut, Iowa, where he graduated from Farragut High School in 1956. Career Early career Lightfoot served eight years in the United States Army and United States Army Reserve. He began his career working for IBM as a customer engineer and was eventually transferred to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also worked as an officer in the Tulsa Police Department. Maxwell Gordon Lightfoot (19 July 1886 – 27 September 1911) was an artist and painter from Liverpool who became known for his depictions of atmospheric pastoral scenes and sepia illustrations of figures. Lightfoot showed great talent as a student whilst at the Slade School of Art and when he exhibited with the Camden Town Group, but he took his own life at a young age. Mary L. Lightfoot (1889–1970) was an American painter and printmaker. Lightfoot was born in Ravenna, Texas. She summered in Europe and in Taos, New Mexico during her career. She is credited with contributing to the cultural life of Australia through both classical ballet and Indian classical dance. Lori Elaine Lightfoot (born August 4, 1962) is an American attorney and politician serving since 2019 as the 56th mayor of Chicago. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Kelvin 'Kelly' Thomas Lightfoot (1925-date of death unknown) was a former South African international lawn bowler. Bowls career World Championships Lightfoot came to prominence in 1966 when he won a triples bronze medal at the 1966 World Outdoor Bowls Championship. Ten years later in 1976 he won the triples, fours and team gold medal at the World Outdoor Championships in Johannesburg. In the Triples with Kevin Campbell and Nando Gatti they won 14 of their 15 matches. In the fours with Campbell, Gatti and Bill Moseley they repeated the feat of winning 14 of the 15 matches played. He holds the American record with a clearance of at the Music City Track Carnival in Nashville on June 2, 2023. This broke the record of 6.06 set by Sam Kendricks, the 2017 and 2019 World champion, in 2019. Joseph Barber Lightfoot (13 April 1828 – 21 December 1889), known as J. B. Lightfoot, was an English theologian and Bishop of Durham. Life Lightfoot was born in Liverpool, where his father John Jackson Lightfoot was an accountant. His mother, Ann Matilda Barber, was from a family of Birmingham artists. He was educated at King Edward's School, Birmingham, under James Prince Lee. His contemporaries included Brooke Foss Westcott and Edward White Benson. In 1847, Lightfoot went to Trinity College, Cambridge, and read for his degree along with Westcott. He graduated senior classic and 30th wrangler, and was elected a fellow of his college.
