''Lickin' on Both Sides'' is the debut studio album by British R&B/UK garage group Mis-Teeq, released by Telstar Records on 29 October 2001. It was primarily produced by Stargate, with additional production from Jensen & Larsson, and Synth among others. The album became a top-five success in the United Kingdom, reaching number three on the national albums chart. The album was re-released three times, with the final release, a special edition, being released on 22 June 2002. ''Lickin' on Both Sides'' was certified double platinum in the UK. Altogether the album spawned five top-ten singles. Mis-Teeq
Mis-Teeq were a British girl group, consisting of Alesha Dixon, Su-Elise Nash and Sabrina Washington. They had two top-ten albums and seven consecutive top-ten singles, with chart-topping success on the UK Singles Chart as well as across Europe, Asia, Australasia and the US. The group had originally been a quartet with Zena McNally who left in January 2001. The second line-up released their debut studio album ''Lickin' on Both Sides'' on 27 October 2001, which peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart and was certified double platinum. The album featured the group's first five singles, all of which became UK Top 10 hits, including their debut single " Why?" with McNally and " All I Want". This Is How We Do It
"This Is How We Do It" is the debut single by American singer Montell Jordan. It was released by Def Jam Recordings on February 6, 1995 as the lead single from his debut album, also titled ''This Is How We Do It'' (1995). The single was Def Jam's first R&B release. The song is representative of the hip hop soul style popular at the time. The song features Jordan singing over an enhanced Teddy Riley drumbeat sample of Slick Rick's "Children's Story" which in turn has an added interpolation of the bass of Bob James' "Nautilus". "This Is How We Do It" peaked at number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 on April 15, 1995, rising from number six the previous week and displacing Madonna's " Take a Bow" from the top spot. Blacksmith (musical Group)
Blacksmith are a British record production and remixing trio consisting of brothers Hugh and Karl Atkins, and Pete Trotman. They are also known by their aliases Tim Blacksmith, Karl Blacksmith and Peter Blacksmith, respectively. Roll On (Mis-Teeq Song)
"Roll On" is a song by British girl group Mis-Teeq. Produced by Blacksmith, it was recorded for the group's debut album, ''Lickin' on Both Sides'' (2001). The song was released as a double A-single along with a cover version of Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It" on 17 June 2002, marking the album's final single. Upon its release, it became another top-10 success for the group on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number seven. Su-Elise Nash
Su-Elise Michelle Nash (born 22 May 1981) is an English singer who rose to fame in the now-defunct girl group Mis-Teeq. Career Nash was born in Dulwich, London, and is of Jamaican and English descent, As a member of Mis-Teeq with Sabrina Washington and Alesha Dixon. Nash performed in various talents since she was a child, but had commenced a business degree at Middlesex University before becoming a member of Mis-Teeq. She has four sisters, Lisa, Chrystina, Helena and Savannah. After the departure of Mis-Teeq, Nash continued with her studies, earning teaching qualifications, and has opened her own performing arts school called the "Su-Elise Stage School" based in Gravesend, Kent. Alesha Anjanette Dixon (born 7 October 1978) is an English singer, rapper, dancer, television personality, and author. She gained recognition in the early 2000s as a member of the R&B, garage and hip hop group Mis-Teeq. The group disbanded in 2005 and Dixon then pursued a music career as a solo artist, signing a recording contract with Polydor Records.
