Libertas Poland
Libertas Poland (''Libertas Polska'', LP) was a political party in Poland. It contended the 2009 European Parliament elections under a common banner with Libertas Party Limited, the organization founded by Declan Ganley. Pawlowiec's Lewica i Demokraci Before the 2007 Polish parliamentary election, three LPR then-members, Cyprian Gutkowski, Daniel Pawłowiec and Sebastian Jargut, registered a party called ''Lewica i Demokraci'', (Left and Democrats). The party was a party-in-name-only designed to frustrate the party of the same name, which was forced to register itself as ''SLD+SdPl+PD+UP – Lewica i Demokraci'' (LiD) instead. Declan Ganley visited Poland on Friday 9 January 2009 to discuss terms for the formation of the Poland branch of Libertas with representatives from Forward Poland (NP), PSL Piast and Prawica Rzeczypospolitej (PR). Daniel Pawłowiec
Daniel Mirosław Pawłowiec (born 7 November 1978 in Szczecin) is a Polish politician and journalist. He was a deputy in the Sejm V term and was a deputy minister in the government of Jaroslaw Kaczynski. To 2005 Pawlowiec joined the All-Polish Youth, the youth wing of the League of Polish Families in 1995. He worked as a journalist on the daily newspaper "Nasz Dziennik" between 1999 and 2002, then became the director of the Parliamentary press office of the League of Polish Families from 2002 to 2005. During this period he was on Warsaw City Council. Piast Faction ( pl, Stronnictwo Piast, SP), informally Piast Party, formerly Polish People's Party "Piast" ( pl, Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe Piast, PSL Piast); is a political party founded in 2006. All-Polish Youth
The All-Polish Youth ( pl, Młodzież Wszechpolska) refers to two inter-linked Polish far-right ultranationalist youth organizations, with a Catholic-nationalist philosophy. Its agenda declares that its aim is "''to raise Polish youth in a Catholic and patriotic spirit''". The inter-war incarnation was created in 1922 as part of the National Democracy movement, and was modelled after the inter-war fascist movement Falanga. During World War II it operated underground and was clamped down on the break of 1945/1946 by the Communist authorities. The present incarnation was created on December 2, 1989. Its manifesto from 1989 states that "''one's country is the greatest earthly good. Real Politics Union
The Real Politics Union ( pl, Unia Polityki Realnej, UPR) is a national conservative and economically liberal political party in Poland. In the past it was right-libertarian and classical liberal. Popular support and funding UPR was founded in 1987 as the classic liberal Real Politics Movement by Janusz Korwin-Mikke, who later became its long-term leader. In the 1990s and 2000s UPR consistently had the support of 1–2% of voters in general elections, too low to receive public funding under Polish electoral law. As a consequence, it has faced prolonged financial difficulties since its inception. In the 1991 legislative election, the party won 3 seats. Party Of Regions (Polish)
The Party of Regions ( pl, Partia Regionów) was a Polish non-parliamentary political party created in November 2007 and registered in February 2008. The Party of Regions was created by former members of Self-Defence after the parliamentary election in 2007, when Self-Defence support collapsed to far less than the 5% electoral threshold giving them no seats in the new legislature. Self-Defense Of The Republic Of Poland
Self-Defence of the Republic of Poland ( pl, Samoobrona Rzeczpospolitej Polskiej, SRP) is a nationalist, populist, and agrarian political party and trade union in Poland. Its platform combines left-wing populist economic policies with religious conservative social policies. Founded by Andrzej Lepper in 1992, the party initially fared poorly, failing to enter the Sejm. However, it was catapulted to prominence in the 2001 parliamentary election, winning 53 seats, after which it gave confidence and supply to the Democratic Left Alliance government. It elected six MEPs at the 2004 European election, with five joining the Union for Europe of the Nations and one joining the PES Group. Krzysztof Filipek
Krzysztof Filipek (born 1 August 1961) is a Polish politician. Background and career Filipek was born in Węgrów. He was elected to the Sejm on 25 September 2005, getting 16,515 votes in 18 Siedlce district as a candidate from the Self-Defence of the Republic of Poland list. The Polish People's Party ( pl, Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe, PSL) is an agrarian political party in Poland. It is currently led by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. Its history traces back to 1895, when it held the name People's Party, although its name was changed to the present one in 1903. During the Second Polish Republic, the Polish People's Party was represented by a number of parties that held its name. They were all supportive of agrarian policies, although they spanned from the left-wing to the centre-right on the political spectrum. Zdzisław Zbigniew Podkański (18 October 1949 – 18 February 2022) was a Polish politician. Biography Podkański was born Guzówka, Poland. He was a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Lublin Voivodship with the Polish People's Party, part of the European People's Party and he was sitting on the European Parliament's Committee on Culture and Education. Podkański was a substitute for the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development and a vice-chair of the Delegation to the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
