Libertarian Party Of Delaware
The Libertarian Party of Delaware (LPDE) is the Delaware affiliate of the national Libertarian Party. It was founded in 1975. The Libertarian Party of Delaware has taken the lead in many civil rights issues in the state, including medical freedom and protection of the first & second amendments. Leadership LPDE Platform Libertarian philosophy centers on individual rights and the non-aggression principle (NAP). The LPDE statement of principles prioritizes the right to life, the right to liberty of speech and action (opposing government censorship in any form), and the right to property. The Libertarian Party (LP) is a Political parties in the United States, political party in the United States that promotes civil liberties, non-interventionism, ''laissez-faire'' capitalism, and Limited government, limiting the size and scope of government. The party was conceived in August 1971 at meetings in the home of David Nolan (libertarian), David F. Nolan in Westminster, Colorado, and was officially formed on December 11, 1971, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The organizers of the party drew inspiration from the works and ideas of the prominent Austrian school economist, Murray Rothbard. Richard V. Campagna of Iowa City, Iowa was the vice-presidential running mate of Michael Badnarik of the Libertarian Party in the 2004 U.S. presidential election. Michael J. Badnarik ( ; August 1, 1954 – August 11, 2022) was an American software engineer, political figure, and radio talk show host. He was the Libertarian Party nominee for President of the United States in the 2004 elections, and placed fourth in the race, behind independent candidate Ralph Nader and the two major party candidates, George W. Bush and John Kerry. Two years later Badnarik ran as a Libertarian Party candidate in the 2006 congressional elections for Texas's 10th congressional district seat near Austin. In a three candidate field, Badnarik came in third, receiving 7,603 votes for 4.3% of the vote. Arthur C. Olivier (born August 24, 1957) is an American politician. He is the former mayor of Bellflower, California and was the Libertarian candidate for Vice President in the United States presidential election in 2000 as the running mate of presidential candidate Harry Browne. Art Olivier is a graduate of Cerritos College with a degree in Design Technology. He and his wife Joyce have four children. Olivier served as a councilman (1994–1997), mayor pro tempore (1997–1998) and mayor (1998–1999) of Bellflower, a Los Angeles suburb with 77,000 residents. Olivier is a Realtor with Cogburn Realty. The 2000 United States presidential election in Delaware took place on November 7, 2000, part of the 2000 United States presidential election in all 50 states and D.C. Voters chose three representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president. Delaware was won by Vice President Al Gore with a 13.1% margin of victory. Gore carried Delaware's most populous county, New Castle County, with almost 60% of the vote. Bush won the other two counties, but by relatively narrow margins. Jorgensen was the Libertarian Party's nominee for president of the United States in the 2020 election, in which she finished third in the popular vote with about 1.9 million votes, 1.2% of the national total. Harry Edson Browne (June 17, 1933 – March 1, 2006) was an American writer, politician, and investment advisor. He was the Libertarian Party's Presidential nominee in the U.S. elections of 1996 and 2000. He authored 12 books that in total have sold more than 2 million copies. Career Armed services He was inducted into the U.S. Army on May 5, 1953. He went to the Southwestern Signal Corps Training Center at Camp San Luis Obispo, California to study cryptography. The 1992 United States presidential election in Delaware took place on November 3, 1992, as part of the 1992 United States presidential election. Voters chose three representatives, or electors to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president. Delaware was won by Governor Bill Clinton ( D-Arkansas) with 43.52%% of the popular vote over incumbent President George H. W. Bush ( R-Texas) with 35.33%.
