Liberal Reform Party (Australia)
The Liberal Reform Party was an Australian political party, active in New South Wales state politics between 1901 and 1916. It drew much of its support from Protestant and Temperance groups. History The question of tariff policy which, had created and divided the Free Trade Party and Protectionist Party in New South Wales in the 1890s, became a federal issue at the time of federation. Deprived of their main ideological difference, the two parties were recreated as the Liberal Reform Party, aligned with the federal Free Trade Party, and the Progressive Party, aligned with the federal Protectionist Party. The Progressive Party's vote collapsed at the 1904 election and many of its members then joined the Liberal Reform Party. By 1907, the Liberal Reform Party was left as the main centre-right party in New South Wales. The Romanian Popular Party ( ro, Partidul Popular Românesc, PPR), previously known as the Liberal Reformist Party ( ro, Partidul Liberal Reformator), is a political party from Moldova. The party supportes the unification of Romania and Moldova. On 27 August 2019, the party changed its name from Liberal Reformist Party to Romanian Popular Party and elected Vlad Țurcanu as its new president at the second Congress of the party. The Liberal Reformist Party ( ro, Partidul Liberal Reformator, PLR) was a minor, allegedly centre-right and pseudo-liberal political party in Romania founded on 3 July 2014 by former PNL president Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu. In February 2014 the National Liberal Party (PNL) split from the Social Liberal Union (USL) alliance with the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and later in July 2014 joined the European People's Party (EPP) group in the European Parliament. Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu, along with almost 30 MPs, left the PNL to establish a new liberal party in Romania, intending to become the Romanian member of ALDE and the Liberal International. Liberal Reformers ( it, Riformatori Liberali, RL) was a minor liberal, libertarian and liberist political party in Italy led by Benedetto Della Vedova, a former President of the Italian Radicals. History RL was founded in 2005 by a split from the Italian Radicals of those radicals that were opposed to the formation of the Rose in the Fist alliance together with the Italian Democratic Socialists, as a component of the wider centre-left The Union, and instead supported an alliance with the centre-right House of Freedoms. The party united former Radicals, as many former members of the Italian Liberal Party and of Forza Italia. The Liberal Reformist Party ( es, Partido Liberal Reformista) was a political party in Puerto Rico founded by Pedro Gerónimo Goyco, José Julián Acosta and Roman Baldorioty de Castro in 1870. It was the first political party ever to be established in Puerto Rico. The party was formed following the ''Grito de Lares'' revolt. The Newfoundland Reform Liberal Party was a leader-centred political party in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada from 1975 to 1979. It backed the return to power of Joey Smallwood after the former premier failed to regain the leadership of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1974. 1975 election The Newfoundland Reform Liberal Party ran 28 candidates in the 1975 provincial election. With the Newfoundland and Labrador House of Assembly having been expanded to 51 seats for the election Smallwood did not expect to win an outright mandate, rather, he hoped his presence would result in a hung parliament (with no party holding a majority of seats) in which the former premier could use the resulting bargaining power to return to office.
