Liaquat Ali Khan ( ur, ; 1 October 1895 – 16 October 1951), also referred to in Pakistan as ''Quaid-e-Millat'' () or ''Shaheed-e-Millat'' ( ur, lit=Martyr of the Nation, label=none, ), was a Pakistani statesman, lawyer, political theorist, and one of the leading founding fathers of Pakistan. Liaquat National Memorial Library
The Liaquat National Memorial Library is a Government of Sindh funded public library located at the Stadium Road in Karachi, Pakistan. The National Library of Pakistan was established in 1950 as a branch directorate. In the year 1954, the Liaquat Memorial Library was declared a legal depository under the Copyright Law. This library continued to function of the National Library until 1986. Over a short span of few years the library has acquired numerous collections through purchases, copyright deposits, gifts, exchanges, and donations. The library has total holdings of 144,000 volumes (73,000 English and European Languages, 40,000 Oriental Languages). Liaquat Memorial Library has been serving the nation for over fifty years and its collection of over 150,000 reading materials can now be searched online. Liaqat National Bagh (Park), usually just referred to as ''Liaqat Bagh'' (Urdu: لیاقت باغ), is a famous park on Murree Road in the city of Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. It is close to Arya Mohalla and Government Gordon College, which are two well known residential and commercial areas of Rawalpindi. Two Prime Ministers of Pakistan, Mr. Liaquat Ali Khan and Benazir Bhutto, have been assassinated in this park. On 1 March 2016, a mass gathering of people for the funeral prayer of Mumtaz Qadri, who assassinated Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, was also seen here after Qadri's execution. Maulvi Liaquat Ali (1817-1892) was a Muslim religious leader from Allahabad ( Prayagraj), in the state of Uttar Pradesh in present-day India. He was one of the leaders in the revolt against the British in 1857, in what is now known as the First Indian war of Independence, or the uprising of 1857. The Civil Hospital, Hyderabad, also known as Liaquat University Hospital (LUH), is a 1450-bed tertiary care hospital in Hyderabad, Sindh. It is one of the largest teaching hospitals affiliated with Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, the first medical university of public sector in Pakistan.
