Liam Richard Finn (born 2 November 1983) is a former rugby league footballer. An Ireland national rugby league team, Ireland international representative or , he played for Halifax R.L.F.C., Halifax, Widnes Vikings, Wakefield Trinity (two spells) and Castleford Tigers in the Super League, as well as Dewsbury Rams and Featherstone Rovers in the Rugby League Championships, Championship. Halifax () is a minster and market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire, England. A benefit season is a method of financially rewarding professional cricketers that is used by English county cricket teams to compensate long serving players. The system originated in the 19th century to help out professional cricketers who were paid low wages and generally could not play professional cricket much beyond the age of forty. Early "benefits" typically comprised the gate receipts of a designated match. Nowadays, a benefit season comprises a sequence of events such as dinners and auctions of memorabilia over the course of the summer cricket season or the whole year in which the relevant cricket season falls. The 2017 Rugby League World Cup Europe qualification was a rugby league tournament held in October and November 2016 to decide the three European qualifiers for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup. It consisted of a round-robin tournament which saw Wales and Ireland qualify by winning their respective tables. The 2015 European Cup was an international rugby league football tournament. The tournament took place between 16 October and 7 November in Wales, France, Scotland and Ireland. Robert James Beswick (born 8 December 1984) is a former rugby league footballer who played as a or . He started his professional career in 2004 with the Wigan Warriors in the Super League. He left the club in 2006 and spent the next ten seasons in the Championship with the Widnes Vikings, Halifax and the Leigh Centurions. In 2017, Beswick joined the Toronto Wolfpack and played in the club's inaugural league game before finishing his career with Newcastle Thunder. The 2008 Rugby League World Cup was the thirteenth staging of the Rugby League World Cup since its inauguration in 1954, and the first since the 2000 tournament.
