Lexicon Avenue
Lexicon Avenue is an electronic music group from Newcastle upon Tyne, consisting of Scott Bradford, Mark Armstrong, and Chris Scott. Their own Forensic record label began with the first Lexicon release, "Hear I Am", and with releases and remixes on Satoshi Tomiie's Saw Recordings, Hooj Choons, Renaissance Recordings, Yoshitoshi Records, Yoshitoshi. History Lexicon Avenue have performed in Japan, South America, Portugal, Lithuania, Romania, Croatia, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, Jakarta, Dubai, India, Israel, Norway, Spain, and the United States. They have released singles on labels including Forensic Records, Saw Recordings and Yoshitoshi Records, Yoshitoshi. Renaissance Recordings
Renaissance Recordings is a British record label, founded by the club Renaissance in 1994. It went into administration in September 2010 and the back catalogue was sold to Phoenix Music International Ltd. After a year of inactivity, in July 2011 it was announced that Renaissance had been reborn, with founder and original owner Geoff Oakes once again guiding the brand. In 2018, media and finance entrepreneur Scott Rudmann acquired a majority stake in the label and began working in partnership with Oakes. After a large period of activity, they ceased operations once again on 23 September 2014. In July 2017, they released a new digital remix of Age of Love's song " The Age of Love" by Solomun that went to world no1 on the electronic music charts. Happy Clappers were a house studio project from the UK, featuring Chris Scott, Graeme Ripley, Martin Knotts and Mark Topham, with Sandra Edwards on vocals. Biography Happy Clappers scored chart success in the UK and Ireland from 1995 to 1997. Their highest peak in the UK charts was number seven with " I Believe". Other UK hits included "Hold On", "Can't Help It" and "Never Again". Their debut album "Games" which includes all their hit singles including the 97 remix of "I Believe" was released in 1997 without chart success. Echomen is an electronic music production duo, which specialises in progressive house, consisting of Chris Scott and Anton Fielding. They are also known as '' Mooncat'', ''Unarmed Forces'' and ''Time Design''. They have released singles on labels such as Hooj Choons, Forensic Records and Saw Recordings. These singles have received much play from DJs and have been featured on compilations from Global Underground's Nubreed series as well James Zabiela's '' Sound in Motion''. Depeche Mode are an English electronic music band formed in Basildon, Essex, in 1980. The band currently consists of Dave Gahan (lead vocals and co-songwriting) and Martin Gore (keyboards, guitar, co-lead vocals and main songwriting). Depeche Mode, originally formed by the lineup of Gahan, Gore, Andy Fletcher (musician), Andy Fletcher and Vince Clarke, released their debut album ''Speak & Spell (album), Speak & Spell'' in 1981, bringing the band onto the British New wave music, new wave scene. Phillip Krokidis (6 May 1969 – 1 November 2020), known professionally as Phil K, was an Australian electronic music DJ and record producer from Melbourne. He was a member of the "Aussie breaks" music scene which also includes other Melbourne DJs such as Nubreed and Andy Page. In addition to DJing, Phil K also produced alongside Habersham and Dave Preston in The Operators and was also a member of Hi-Fi Bugs and Lostep. He was known primarily for his DJing of breakbeat music, but often weaved in other genres such as ambient, deep house, and techno and did not pigeonhole himself with a particular genre. Hooj Choons
Hooj Choons is a house record label formed by Alex Simons and Red Jerry (real name Jeremy Dickens) in 1990. The first release was "Carnival de Casa" by Rio Rhythm Band, however, it was not until 1992's release of Felix's "Don't You Want Me", which Red Jerry and Faithless founder-member Rollo co-produced, that Hooj Choons had their first crossover hit. Over the next ten years, Hooj Choons had several notable releases including productions from artists such as Diss-Cuss, Tilt, Oliver Lieb and JX. The label built up a roster of popular club hits and smaller underground classics over 20 years. Dissolution In 2003, Hooj announced its dissolution as a record label. Hooj Choons was dissolved having released 136 singles plus a dozen or so album-length compilations. Satoshi Tomiie
is a Japanese DJ, record producer and musician. Biography A lifelong student of jazz and classical piano, Satoshi had an influential impact from his very first record. His debut single ‘Tears’, which he co-produced in 1989 with Chicago's ‘Godfather of House’ Frankie Knuckles, was an instant club hit. In the early 1990s, he toured and played keyboard for Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto (of Yellow Magic Orchestra fame).
