Letter With Feather
''Leather with Feather'' () (also known as ''Urgent Letter'') is a 1954 Chinese film directed by Shi Hui (actor), Shi Hui and written by the playwright and filmmaker, Zhang Junxiang. A war film that was targeted at Children's film, children, ''Letter with Feather'' focuses on a young boy who, through his wits, delivers an important message to the 8th Route Army while evading Imperial Japanese forces during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Plot Haiwa (Cao Yuanyuan) is a twelve-year-old boy and the son of a guerrilla warfare, guerrilla leader. One day, he is entrusted with urgent dispatch that must be brought to the Communist Eighth Route Army, which is fighting the Imperial Japanese Army in northeast China. The letter is marked with three feathers, indicating its importance. He embarks on his mission but must avoid the many Japanese patrols. Shi Hui (actor)
Shi Hui (1915 – December 1957), born Shi Yutao (), was a Chinese actor and film director who gained prominence throughout the 1940s through 1950s. Despite his fame, Shi became a victim of the Anti-Rightist Movement in the mid-1950s and committed suicide soon thereafter. Career Shi's career as an actor began relatively late. His first film was not until 1940's ''The Chaotic World'' (dir. Wu Renzhi), and he would not gain broad recognition until after the war, with a series of classic films including ''Phony Phoenixes'' (dir. Huang Zuolin) and ''Long Live the Missus!'' (dir. Edinburgh International Film Festival
The Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) is a film festival that runs for two weeks in June each year. Established in 1947, it is the world's oldest continually running film festival. Cultural Revolution
The Cultural Revolution, formally known as the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, was a sociopolitical movement in the People's Republic of China (PRC) launched by Mao Zedong in 1966, and lasting until his death in 1976. Its stated goal was to preserve Chinese communism by purging remnants of capitalist and traditional elements from Chinese society.
